I was flipping around all the sports stations this morning and all anyone is talking about is this dammed Donald Sterling scandal.

There have been some amazing playoff games going on.

One of the all-time great coaches just passed away.

How about we talk about basketball?

I agree. I'm done with this scandal. Sterling is a POS but nothing can happen to him so whatever.

At least the Starters today lead off with Portland and the series, saving Sterling till the end. I am glad to see the Jack Respect all over the net though, everyone is 'trying' to carry it and talk but this Sterling bit is so in the now. Saving grace is this is a perfect testament to the concept of Legacy. Dr. Jack left one, a positive one across multiple outlets. Sterling, will leave no positive legacy when he dies.

It's all anybody's posting to in our basketball forum... I'd love for both the thread and the story in general to be relegated to the Fox News/OT forum.

What's your take on Game 4? I was pretty surprised by how many people didn't foul out by the end.

Isn't life better when you just bitch about problems rather than solving them?

I understand that the Sterling BS is taking center stage, it's a news story instead of just a sports story, but damn, this is the most fun basketball series the Blazers have played in over a decade and I want to revel in it. And not just the Blazers/Rockets series, but every series except the heat one has some riveting moments and great tight games. Fuck Sterling! Fuck the Sterling story! Now let's talk Blazers. Wes was a demon on D last night. I think this team has really elevated their play for the playoffs. We never saw such continuous aggressive play all season as we have seen each game so far. Oh, I also love watching Harden miss and get frustrated, so fun.

Wes just sits on his left hand. I think he's showing the league how to defend him. That being said, when he gets the iso, he's impossible to guard. He can drive or step back and kill you. He's more Roy than Brandon.

Loving the Blazers right now . .. can't work for long periods at a time, I was in a shit mood from Friday night to Sunday night and even up 3-1 I am nervous as can be about the series. But I am loving it!

Having said that, this Sterling stuff is pretty revealing for many. So many times when talking about disadvantages for black people the reply is along the lines of this isn't 100 years ago and the disadvantages no longer exist and may even be an advantage these days. But the reality is white upper class males still rule the nation and this line of thinking still exist in this old but powerful old boys network. Scary that a billionaire and influential person like Sterling has owned and run big time corporations while having this school of thought.

The League can prevent/stop a sale, but can't force/start one. With Shinn, they put a couple of restrictions (media territory, etc.) and drove him off after a couple of years.

Apparently Stern protected Sterling and now, someone like a rival owner has gotten someone close to him to make the tape. Sterling was no Stormfronter on the tape. He practically cried as he pled for small-minded, small-town racist conservatism. After 50 years of marriage, he's lost at being single in L.A.

He's too dumb to be so rich, but that's the American Way. A slow quiet Shinn method should have been used. I was sick and tired after a day or two of the strongarm campaign to demonize Sterling, and wish it would end.

Only a government employee would be surprised at the management class in private enterprise. Government rules neuter government employees. If they tell you that racism is gone, you government guys live in a pretend world. Anyway, I'm tired of the Sterling issue.

You're not a government employee? Must work for a great big transnational then. I can tell you are used to sophisticated work rules.

    Agreed.

Even last night after the INSANLY AMAZING POR/HOU game TNT chooses to do the Clippers game recap first due to the scandal. They always show the game that just ended highlights first. "BUT HEY THERE IS SOME RACIST SHIT GOING ON SO LET SHOW YOU THIS BLOWOUT CLIPPERS GAME FIRST!!!"

    ugh

If we make the WCF i think we re-name the Memorial "Jack's Garden" and play a home game there in tribute. I know it seats like 1/2 of what the moda center does, so for 5 bucks a ticket we ALSO open up the Moda center and let people watch the game in there from Jacks Garden. Bring out the retro floor and make some noise.
