ROUND 2, GAME 1: BLAZERS @ SPURS - 5/6/14, TUESDAY, 6:30 PM (PST), TNT

For all the praise Stotts got in round 1, this team just wasn't fucking ready to play against the Spurs tonight.

 

We are beaten. 26 down is beaten.

 

Settle down in the second half, and look for ways to be better in Game 2.

 

Do you really think this has anything to do with the Spurs specifically? We're missing wide open layups. It could be the Jazz and we'd still be getting hammered right now with how we're playing.

We were ready to play the spurs of game 6. The spurs of game 7 showed up.

 

We rallied from 23 down in a little over a quarter against the Mavs in the playoffs before... Even if it was Roy's going away gift... It's possible.

 

At the half:

I think Splitter is doing amazing against LMA.... I couldn't ask for more from him. I dont see this happening the entire series, let alone the next half of this game (although I hope it does).

Spurs are pretty much breaking down your guys defense with ball movement and P&R's.... If your team wants a chance, they will need to pack the paint against Parker and make the role players of the Spurs win this game taking jump shots and 3's.

Dallas woke the sleeping giant though, you guys are in trouble.

 

Who isn't ripping us right now? Your entire team is shooting over 60%. We are just sucking on both ends.

 

How do you prepare your team for missing layups?

 

This! It's just game one. We should be glad we aren't playing Dallas. Losing the first game at home would be tough to overcome.

 

I still do. Win or lose against the Spurs we learn something. Losing against the Mavs is just standard fare. We have to beat the best, not the fucking mavs.

That first round series sure was fun. The team looks shell-shocked. I don't expect them to win, but I hope they can show some fire in the second half.

I don't agree. I think the Spurs are playing great on offense, but I don't think it's their defense. Dude, we've missed at least six or seven point blank, wide open, uncontested layups.

 

I think the deficit is too big to save Game 1. I mean if we can get it down to 11 points by the 4th, we may have a chance but I don't think that's happening. We just have to hold composure, come out and try to execute.

 

Warned y'all about Splitter tbh. LA will end up with 20-25 points, but it won't be efficient. Haven't even had to put Green on Lillard yet either.
