So many "fans" have/do trash LMA for the flimsiest of reasons. I like seeing someone who is a huge LMA supporter. PapaG balances things out in the forum.
Yes, you freak out, exactly like you did last summer. I take the long view, listened to what LMA had to say this year (about it was cool to start moving up the career Blazer lists, how staying with one franchise would be nice), and realize that he's not got to leave the Blazers high-and-dry unless something seriously goes wrong. Your approach seems to be that unless your star players accept the first contract that you offer, then you trade them. You'd be fired within 2 years pulling that stuff as a business plan.
It's a fact that Aldridge is a high volume shooter that shoots a meh percentage for his position Not trashing, just the facts
I referenced "pant-shitting" because of the numerous times it was mentioned early in this thread. If you guys want to clown on me for supporting LMA, and not freaking out about him, I'm fine with it.
I notice NB3 is in full troll mode. Calling posters "dicks," calling me out in this thread ... I guess the break up isn't going well.
...unless the star player accepts the "best offer anyone on the planet can give him". I don't begrudge the dude anything. If he wants to play somewhere else he's more than earned that right. If I had been forced to work in NYC my whole career, and had a chance to make about the same amount in POR or SEA, I'd totally do that. All I'm saying is that the only thing the Blazers can do is offer him more money than anyone else in this exclusive window. The offer can't get better until the Blazers are at risk. You seem to be playing into the Gordon Gund/Carlos Boozer method of negotiating, where you think a player has loyalty to something other than what's best for him.
I just think you overreact. There are a few people who strongly feel that we should trade LA. You have made it abundantly clear that you disagree with them. Do we have to go through this song and dance every time something like this comes up? I personally can go either way. I would like to re-sign him and bring in a few more pieces to make a run next season, but I also would understand if Neil chose to deal him. I'm beyond the point where I'm going to argue either way because we've discussed it to death.
Did he call anyone else a "dick"? I only saw the one directed at me, so it ain't cool to go all plural unless he did.
Who doesn't overreact on this board? Trading LMA if he doesn't accept the 3-year extension is a very dumb idea to me. What should I post, nothing? Now go call me a "dick."
