Well I've been running long distance for 4 weeks straight about 1.6 miles in the morning, and about 1.7 in the evening, started doing jump soles, but they aren't improving at all. so I wanted to try a new program, downloaded this program and am looking to try it out. I think I'm in okay shape to do it and really wanna increase my vertical.
It doesn't matter WHAT shape you're in...over 10,000 jumps in one weeks is SEVERE overtraining and will lead to problems with your joints (or in my case...shins).Simple weight training and plyometrics is far better for your vert, anyway, and is actually safe to do.
Alright well is there a place where you can get like a PDF for polymetrics or anything like that where it can show me workouts to do? Anybody know
Like Ive said before dont do it. I gained 8 inches but completely lost it when I stopped cause teh freaking program killed my knees not worth it

Anybody know</div>Go to bodybuilding.com and search plyometrics. You will find a lot of programs there to gain speed and vertical. While you are there, search for programs to increase lower body strength as well, as strength is as important as the plyometric aspect of the jump.PS- Bodybuilding.com isn't just for bodybuilders, it is for anyone who works out, weights or not.

Does anybody know something I could do that will increase my vertical? Nothing too hard since I'm only 13 years old and my body still needs to develop. I just want to do something that's pretty easy yet increases my vertical.
I started working out at 13... nothing wrong with hitting the weights. you basically just want to get lower body strength and work muscles that are involved with jumping.Or if you're not into that hardcore stuff you could do calf raises and squat-jumps (squat, but not to the point of hurting your knees and jump as high as you can, repeat. Exaggerate your jump to work your muscles more). I dunno that should help a little.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Lefty @ Jul 19 2007, 01:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Skip rope DsounG</div>That does hardly anything to increase vert, unless you really jump your hardest for every time the rope goes under you
It does actually help. It works out your legs no matter what.Squats are the best for strength, people exaggerate cavs. You need strong quads, those give you most of your jump. Calves only help a little.
lemme say, air alert works. I used it for 6 weeks and saw immediate results.. but its a hard work out program.. takes a lot of enerygy out of you..
Well.. I just finished week 2 this week and I have seen results. Obviously not much in two weeks but I've seen them.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Lefty @ Jul 19 2007, 01:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Skipping rope build muscle in the legs, how would that not help your jumping ability?</div>How much will it really help? The workout is futile. People who are familiar to weight training know that if you do small exercises, for example 2.5 lb.-bicep curls, your body does not gain anything from it, no matter how many times you do it. Skipping is cardiovascular.

Good thing u can see a diffrence already.. that means your doing it right.

Almost unbelievable.Anyways, back on topic. I did it for about 5+ weeks, couldn't keep it up. But I promised myself to start again starting on my birthday for the full 15.</div>actually it's not uncommon to get a couple inches in the first couple weeks solely because you learn to jump in a more energy efficient way.As for me, I've done air alert before and gained about 9 inches in the first 9 weeks (had to stop because of time constraints) but I don't really trust it because of how many people f*ck up their knees doing it.
