I'm fine with MM going to Tampa. I would be seriously concerned if it was NY or Oakland.

You can't ask for a better spot of the bottom dwellers. Mike Evans and mariota should make a great tandem. For now they also have vjax. And Doug Martin has shown he can play.

Hoping Philly gets the sack to move all the way up to get him

Tampa bay won't trade down. Philly has nothing to offer that would make a team in dire need of a franchise qb move down

I'm fine with him going to Tampa. Hell, I might even pick up a jersey

I wouldn't say that. Last year they were willing to trade their first for a boatload...they need help all over. If they think Mariota's a 10-year all-star, then you're right. I'm not convinced of that. :dunno: Especially if they can get anything close to an RG3 haul.

Agree to disagree then. I put the odds of Tampa trading down at less than 1%. Mariota is a great fit there. And there is no way in Hell Philly has enough to trade up to get him with them picking around 20.

    How's Tampa's O line to protect Marcus?

Not unless Tampa doesn't feel MM is that guy. If not, Foles and multiple picks might do it

Foles is garbage. Total system guy. No way a pick that's like 20 ans multiple future picks in the 20's get it done

Probably not. "No way" is a little shortsighted though

I might just become a bucs fan if they draft mariota. I can't watch the niners right now after how they fucked harbaugh.

Philly has no shot at trading up to #1, maybe I could see is the bucs like jameis more and trade down to #2. I see zero way they don't come out of this draft with a top qb though. Maybe they fall in love with Hundley, but they will still want a top 5 pick this draft...maybe trade down to the jets pick and take cooper/ Hundley.

No way they trade down to the 20s though unless its for like 5 #1s

I just don't see how Mariota is better than Kaepernick. Maybe he is, but the Oregon offense doesn't really test a QBs NFL skills.

And now Greg Roman, OC of the 49ers is interviewing with Tampa.

I don't think theres ever been a QB with better physical tools then Kaepernick. Reading Defenses and decision making is where he's lacking. Mariota is up there with him athletically but he clearly shines in the mental aspects of playing the position as well.

I will add that kaepernick is a horrible pocket passer, while mm is actually a very competent qb in the pocket. Kaep is a guy that was great at the zone read. That's it. He doesn't have the ability to sit in a pocket and go through his progressions. He's just not that kind of qb. I don't see mariota having that problem.

Kaep was woefully innacurate for much of last year, 1 100mph screen pass at a time
