As expected, every San Francisco 49ers assistant coach except running backs coach Tom Rathman was fired Thursday. The 49ers promoted Jim Tomsula to head coach on Wednesday. A news conference to announce the hiring will be held at 3 p.m. PT at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. He replaces Jim Harbaugh, who mutually agreed to "part ways" with 49ers at the end of the regular season.
