Obviously Jon Jones is #1 right now. 2) Anthony Johnson - The #1 Contender. Arguably the best stand up in MMA right now. Lethal accuracy, the most powerful strikes since ARGUABLY a prime Mike Tyson, solid wrestling, devastating finishes. 3) Daniel Cormier - Elite wrestling, good cardio, powerful, great dirty boxing. 4) Alexander Gustaffson - Did the hype get to his head? Still young, great boxing, good range, good footwork. He has a questionable loss on his record to Phil Davis'. I think the UFC should give him a chance to avenge that loss. 5) Glover? Bader? This is the toss up.
Agree with your top four. After that I would go Evans, Bader, Davis, Teixeira, St-Preux, and Newton, with Shogun and Manuwa just outside the top ten.
And just to note, the questionable loss I referred to for Gus, I mean that I don't think he would lose again and I think the UFC should match them up if the stars align down the road, to see if Gus can avenge that loss.
Shogun is supposedly considering dropping to middleweight and will test the waters, given the opportunity, by cutting to 195 to fight Michael Bisping. Shogun and Rashad should both be at middleweight if they can. No need to be a gatekeeper at 205 when you can still get a title shot at 185.
A title shot, but a likely ass kicking handed to them via Chris weidman. I think shogun is at the point where he should only be taking fun fights. Shogun Vs Silva would be a good Co main event for a bantamweight/flyweight title card.
I think a motivated Evans could put up a pretty entertaining fight with weidman. I highly doubt weidman would give him an ass kicking
Evans hasn't fought for since November of 2013 and is 35, the odds would not be good to say the least.
Obviously he would have a couple fights before to knock off the rust. And it's not completely his fault he hasn't fought. Injuries to him and other fighters.
