    Fortunate, I would say!

Mein looked great. Not the first time we've seen him start well and get run over, though.

He's the worst but it's not all his fault. He spends every minute of his airtime schilling for the UFC. I don't know if there is anyone who wouldn't get annoying after so many years.

Similar performance to some that he's had in the past such as against Thales Leites or Demian Maia. He is steadfast in his style for better or worse.

Gotta say Gil Melendez was the wrong choice for coach for Nick. "Keep doing what you're doing, you look great!" is tantamount to telling him to keep losing rounds. Was Jason Parillo not available?

I only really saw bits and pieces until the main event but here goes nothing...

Natal vs. Watson - both of these guys are grimy fighters and I'm not really into watching guys like this fight unless they are going to go balls out. I know it's a terrible insult but these guys are not PPV or even television fighters, they are undercard filler.

Lineker vs. McCall - only saw some of the third round. Lineker hits hard and plods forward. McCall should've ate him up. Did he take damage in previous rounds?

Brunson vs. Herman - see Natal vs. Watson

Tate vs. McMann - didn't really see any of this fight but I guess Tate smothered her and got the decision? Someone who saw it can fill me in.

Alves vs. Mein - saw this one. Mein is a fun guy to watch. He needs to go to a big camp and sort out his shit, though. He's letting fights slip through his fingers. Alves looked very ordinary in the first round. He's lost so much time... maybe he'll regain form after another year or so. Hopefully he will. He can be a contender in the division (again) these days.

Leites vs. Boetsch - Leites is on a serious roll. Boetsch continues to be worth the price of admission. Good fight!

Iaquinta vs. Lauzon - I feel like Lauzon has been knocked out a lot but that isn't really the case. His fight with Pettis (and last KO) was three years ago. His quality of opposition is dropping lately. Still into seeing him fight Diego Sanchez. As for Iaquinta, good on him. Dunno where he goes from here. Jury, maybe?

Woodley vs. Gastelum - didn't see much of this fight. I guess Woodley did his draw and counter move against the fence a bunch of times. Gastelum isn't very creative.

Silva vs. Diaz - Silva wanted to prove he could still fight and Diaz wanted to prove he could hang with him. Can't help but feel if the stakes were higher, somehow, we might've seen a better fight. With both guys coming off double losses (first time in UFC main event history, IIRC) I guess we should've expected a conservative fight. Silva sorta-kinda retiring and Diaz being non-committal in the interviews took even more steam out of it.

Hey did you hear that Ronda Rousey is fighting soon? Mind if I repeat that fact fifty million more fucking times? You'd think that the Pay part of Pay-Per-View would save you some of the endless advertising and promotion that you get on free TV but it might actually be worse. Without typical commercials it's just a barrage of upcoming UFC stuff. I think the UFC needs to recognize that their audience is dedicated. The casual fans have gone. The people watching (us) know what's coming up. We don't need to be inundated with it. And people would hate Goldy less if the UFC hired someone else to read the ads and events calendar between fights, as I think Jim Ross has repeatedly urged the UFC to do in the past.

Apparently this is the fucking broad that would not stop shrieking during the main event. Blame the fighters for not getting the crowd into it enough to drown her out, I guess.

The Brazilians went 7-0 tonight. 8-0 if you count Hettes' forfeiture. Their fans are still a pain to listen to, though.
