http://conservativetribune.com/law-defunds-anti-flag-schools/ BREAKING: This State Just Launched Legislation to DEFUND Colleges That Ban the American Flag UC Irvines’ student-led legislative council apparently does not hold a fond affection for the Stars and Stripes. This week, they passed a resolution to ban the American flag from their building’s lobby because it “triggers” negative feelings among illegal citizens. According to the report, a member of the Associated Students of the University of California, Matthew Guevara, authored the anti-flag resolution. “The American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism,” Guevara’s resolution reads. “Flags not only serve as symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism, but also construct cultural mythologies and narratives that in turn charge nationalist sentiments.” California GOP lawmakers were quick to respond. They are now drafting an amendment to the California Constitution so that any school banning the American flag would lose its public funding.
It wasn't banned from the entire college. The student group just didn't want the flag pushed in their faces in their own office. The equivalent would be if one office on a military base approved flashing the peace sign in their lobby, so Congressional Republicans defunded the whole base.
This is such a misrepresented issue. They banned all flags in the common area including the american flag, they did not single out the american flag.
^^^^^, it is well known that men are more violent than women. So religious bakery owners should ban groups of people with more than one man in them. They wouldn't be banning gays, just groups of men.
This just sums up our fucking disaster nicely. "because it “triggers” negative feelings among illegal citizens.". You are illegal, you get no fucking say, I could care less what you think or feel or have 'triggered'. GTFO until you can come back legally. Not to mention, you are in the USA. This is our country and our flag. Go away if you don't like it.
Yes but don't you think that baning the American Flag is over stepping their authority? I don't think anyone has the right to do it.
