I've been watching these on Netflix and I was thinking what would some good topics be? First few thoughts were the JailBlazers period and the aaron hernandez story. What do you all think would be some cool topics for a documentary?
They should not make a program about that bad word. Where I come from, they hang anyone who says the J word.
I want to see one on the Jail Blazers as well but that was brought up as one that would never be done due to legal reasons on a bill simmons podcast. Dont remember what one just that part of it. One on the 1984 draft would be intresting to watch but I think id end up drinking a fifth or two while watching it and then never wanting anything associated with that number ever spoken again in my presence.
It's not a 30 for 30 but it's similar. I think nba tv made it. If you wanna watch a good 30 for 30 on Netflix check out the one about John Spano. Really crazy how he almost got away with owning the Islanders.
I think it'd be boring. Footage of him dunking, footage of him going into surgery, footage of him partying with loose blondes, him crying, picks of his cawk, more crying and then the interview with the girl he beat up.
Jail Blazers would be fun, but honestly not that interesting compared to the legal troubles and bad boy personalities on some football teams over the years. Jail Blazers were a series of just a bunch of minor incidents that on their own wouldn't have bothered most people. A little weed, a couple traffic tickets and players disrespecting fans is not 30 for 30 material. I'd love to see one on the Blazers improbable championship, but I don't think non blazer fans would care much. I'd like to see one on the new trend of stars recruiting other stars to join and make super teams. A behind the scenes, where when and how the big player driven decisions come from.
I think the JailBlazers would be interesting just because of the behind the scene player interactions with each other. Wouldn't you love to hear what REALLY happened being closed doors?
I'd love to hear how the rest of the players mocked woods for the player card or Damon for pot in tin foil.
They should do a show on the championships Shaq won because the refs got the opposing center (e.g. Sabonis and Divac) into early foul trouble. Better not make the show in Los Angeles, where the refs live. Another concept would be a special 3-part series about Canzano. It would dramatize all the lying articles as if they all came true. Paul Allen would sell the Blazers multiple times, etc. These would need to be 90-minute programs, to try to fit in all the false stories.
Why do they call them 30 for 30s? I thought the idea was that there would be 30 documentaries but there appear to be more now.
