As I sit here typing these words you are now reading, only 105 days remain between us and the first Saturday of the college football season. That seems a long way off, and it is, but it's not as long as it could be, as we must consider that it's been 129 days since Ohio State beat Oregon in the title game, so we are more than halfway through the offseason.

And while that may not be enough to make the new season feel closer, perhaps this will.

It was announced on Thursday that the the season-opener between Alabama and Wisconsin in Arlington, Texas (coincidentally, where last season ended) will be the first Saturday Night Football matchup on ABC next year. It will kick off at 8 p.m. ET.
