With Spring practices over, coaches are focused on recruiting again. By rivals count the Ducks have 15 LB offers out, the latest going to the Bay Area's Camilo Eifler. I would't be the least bit surprised if we see something similar at LB to the musical chairs rush of commits we saw last June with OLine prospects. Only so many spots available...

Ducks offered Philadelphia TE Naseir Upshur recently, and he immediately placed them among his top group of schools. Not the tallest TE prospect, Naseir has a big wingspan & is very athletic/coordinated. Yes please!

Seth Green not shining at Elite 11, even worse he officially lost the QB competion at his school. Already being raw, this can not help his development unless he kicks it in gear himself. Expect is rating to drop across recruiting agencies probably to a 3 star.

I also find it confusing how you "officially lose" a QB competition before summer even starts and football isn't until the fall. Is the coach saying he won't play in the fall based on where he is now? Or do you mean "current depth chart"?

I've searched around for some sort of link supporting these odd sounding revelations, but nothing on the echo chambers at rivals, ESPN, The O or popping out on google... little help?

I have noticed that even on his highlight tape his passing wouldn't be described as pinpoint. He seems very athletic with a big arm but a little raw. Good thing Oregon's got great coaches and a slew of other exciting QB prospects to mold and push him eh?

according to his twitter account, Bay Area stud LB Camilo Eifler will be visiting Eugene on his own dime next Monday. Eifler posted the highest Sparq score in the nation this year at the regional "The Opening" event and won the LB MVP award over several highly rated prospects. Fingers crossed.

as expected, Oregon's latest 2016 class add is Hawaiian RB Vavae Malepeai. Here's highlights of him from the recent regional The Opening competition where he earned RB MVP and an invite to the national The Opening competition next month in Beaverton.

Hawaii doesn't get much attention/visits from the recruiting services, so it's prospects are largely unknown to them. Shining in these sorts of mainland camps + receiving offers from the who's who of the West Coast should move Malepeai way way up in the next rounds of ratings.

Are the dominos starting to fall? California ILB Darrian Franklin commits to Oregon! California LB/WR Michael Pittman & OLineman Matthew Gutwald are both expected to announce Oregon in the coming weeks. The class is already roughly half full & (what it's worth) on pace to be among their highest rated ever

USC was full, not that I mind being runner up in this situation to land Franklin. We don't seem to be in the mix for many top 50 players, so it is highly unlikely this will be the highest rated ever because ratings are weighted more heavily towards teams who land those top players.

Not only does he have an offer from USC, but here's a quote from Darrian that runs counter to your Trojan guess. "I've been to a few places and I've seen around, and when I was in Oregon I knew that was really what I liked," Franklin said. "It was the school I felt most comfortable with, so I made my decision."

I said "on pace to be among their highest rated ever". According to the rivals database, with the class about half full right now their star average is 3.6. Only the 2011 class (which featured 5* Colt & DAT) rated nearly that high averaging 3.57 per PSA. Of course everything is fluid and ratings of players will go up and down, but they already have 4 guys on rivals top 250 list

Two new commits in OL Logan Bathke, and S/LB Troy Dye. Not highly ranked, but small but decent offer pools.

Looks like Claypool to ND, and Pittman to USC.

Good shot with Mayden, but he is so quite would not be shocked if he was leaning elsewhere.
Best shot with Winston, though would not be shocked if like many Oregon boys chooses that Stanford scholarship.

Siting nearby family, academics, great weather, a budding relationship with Coach Aiken and of course winning, stud Louisiana DT Rashard Lawrence is currently on campus on an unofficial. This is his 2nd unofficial to Eugene. He's hoping to spend more time with potential teammates this visit

California LB Bryce Youngquist will be making his announcement this Friday at his HS. It's said to be down to UO & OU (Oklahoma). Bryce has relayed that the Ducks are recruiting him as an Inside LB
