With the season officially at the halfway mark (81 games) I just thought it would be fun to see what the numbers would end up being if the 2nd half matched the first half. Record - 88-74 Gardner 18/78/299................................................I'd be okay with this. Rodriquez 30/92/284............................................Very surprising numbers. Teixeira 40/118/246...............................................His most productive season in years. Beltran 14/60/260.................................................Buy out his final year. McCann 26/104/264..............................................I'd definitely be okay with these numbers. Headley 16/58/254.................................................I would have liked to see more RBIs & less errors. Young 20/50/254...................................................For the games he's played very impressive numbers. Drew 22/48/179.....................................................A wasted roster spot. Gregorius 8/34/246...............................................I would like to see more production. Pineda..................16-10 3.79 Sabathia................6-16 5.59 Eovaldi.................16-4 4.52 Warren (if he remained a starter.......12-10 3.52
I'll agree with those players and stat with exception of Beltran: the man is lethargic Headley: probably difficult to trade Drew: Find a second base man and DFA this clown Greggorius: when you think he's OK he proves you wrong. My all time Yankee to hate is Bobby Meecham. Drew is rapidly gaining ground. No comment on the pitchers

Two or three games worse and it's 86-85 wins, Two or three games better and it's 91-90 wins. Gardy, we should be so fortunate to have Gardner finish with a.299 BA w/78 RBI and 18 HRs and 25- 3O SB., .371 OBP, .856 OPS.....and of course good defense. That's one heck of an all around LF. Arod - "30/92/284.".....? It speaks for itself...and he can do it if he stays healthy and THIS would be remarkable at his age and while playing only 40 something games in 2013 and NONE last year. Tex - 40 HRs ,118 RBI with a very acceptable (IMO) .246 BA. ...and don't forget an OPS of .896. This would be just fine, and very dandy....outstanding to say the least. Beltran - on his way out but hopefully he can chip in with a few more long balls than expected down the stretch...hopefully. McCann 26/104/264 ◀ along with his ATT/SB success rate....those "numbers" would make him one of the absolute BEST catchers in MLB....imo...if he maintains it - it's a big fancy feather in the Yanks' cap. Headley- hope he holds his own because he may just be a place holder until Jagielo is ready in two years. In the meantime, would also like to see more RBI and reduce errors. Young's projected final numbers for a backup outfielder who can play all three positions competently could earn him another invite/contract. Gregorious - 8, maybe more HRs , AND a .246 BA (?)...in what will be his FIRST FULL season as a starting SS ?--- Sounds good to me with a chance to get better in the future. Yanks would sign up for this YESTERDAY! Drew? We all know the story. Pineda and Eovaldi can be positive difference makers or heartbreakers.....same for Nova and Tanaka. We know CC's situation and it's a question of if or when the Yanks pull him out of rotation if those numbers continue. Warren, hard to say, there may have been an issue with his total yearly IP.....I guess we can say the same thing for Pineda since he's pitched just 76.1 innings from 2012- 2014.
Rick's accurate projection according to the halfway numbers gives the Yanks 88 total wins....that's not exactly "brutal".
88 wins would be nice & IMO good enough to take the top spot BUT...........considering that all season long that they've only been between 1 & 9 games over 500 & have gone only 23-26 since they reached there high water mark (9 over) I just don't see that happening (realistically) The team is just way to inconsistent. Now maybe the return of both Miller & Ellsbury will change that. We'll have to see.
I'd really hate to think that what we're seeing with Ells is going to be the norm for the duration of his contract.
guys like him once their legs break down...forget it...hope that I am wrong...then again my push to resign Robbie Cano looks just as wrong
Yeah its amazing how his numbers are going down the toilet in a hurry. Oh well, he left the limelight for the paycheck.
Question I have is whether or not the players will vote ARod onto the AL All-Star roster? Stranger things have happened.
I think Arod deserves it but it's hard to say. Prince Fielder is likely going to get a slot at DH no?
...isn't it up to the AL manager?...not sure...and I wouldn't think the players have forgotten about last years law suit. (ARod vs MLBPA)
Well with Cabrera now on the DL well have a Royal at 1st base after all. As far as the Yankees having any players on the squad, I can see Betances & MAYBE Teixeira.
