Well we are DEFINITELY headed for another lockout after 2021. Thank god it's so far away. I just can't see how anyone can side with the owners anymore. They sign these players to these ridiculous contracts and then cry that they can't afford them. THEN DONT FUCKING SIGN THEM TO THESE CONTRACTS. I'd love a Maserati, but I can't afford one, so you know what I don't do? I DONT FUCKING BUY ONE. These owners are all idiots. After the last lockout, where Minnesota complained that they couldn't afford to spend money AFTER signing Parise and I forget who else to ludicrous contracts, I came to the realization that the NHL will always go into a lockout after the CBA expires because the owners are too god damn stupid for their own good.

I agree some of these contracts are just ridiculous, though Voracek has become a point-per-game player and if a player like Stepan who's never hit 60pts and is the same age can get $6.5M, i guess it's not unfathomable that Voracek would get $8M+

Ive stood on a soap box during any sports labor issue saying exactly what 94 said. Don't blame the player for the dumb ass contracts given out. They have a rare talent and should be paid what ever someone wants to pay them. Why restrict their earnings when no one restricts the earnings of their employers.
