Clinton and Nixon both really sorry: Updated Column

The Democratic front-runner is starting to sound a little like a president who resigned.

Last month, famed Washington Post reporter andWatergate investigator Bob Woodward said that theemail scandal engulfing former secretary of State Hillary Clinton “reminds me of the Nixon tapes: thousands of hours of secretly recorded conversations that Nixon thought were exclusively his."

Woodward’s impression is justified, and not just by the steady drip, drip of new secrets in the latest batch of Clinton emails released by the State Department on Monday. There is also a remarkable resonance between Nixon’s statements during the evolving Watergate crisis and Clinton’s public statements regarding her emails:

    The people come first

Nixon: I welcome this kind of examination, because people have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I am not a crook.

Clinton: I think it's kind of fun. People get a real-time behind-the-scenes look at what I was emailing about and what I was communicating about.

I want to get the facts out ...

Nixon: I want the public to learn the truth about Watergate and those guilty of any illegal actions brought to justice.

Clinton: I want it all out there.

...because they are on my side

Nixon: The facts will prove that the president is telling the truth.

Clinton: That does not change the facts, and no matter what anybody tries to say, thefacts are stubborn.

I would still want it that way. I just don't think Bernie would get the nationwide vote. I've also said that as well.

No.... If Trump isn't on the general, and Bernie is there, I will vote for him.

I firmly believe that the nation as a whole will not vote for Bernie. I stand by that statement because he is too socialist for a lot of Democrats to support.

and Trump is too Donald Trump for a lot of Republicans to support. The #'s that they're showing now are just the select few who are in states where they're doing early shit in, and it's against 900 other candidates, but once the herd is thinned, there's no way his bombastic, insulting and self important shtick will catch on with the rest of his party and definitely the rest of the country.

One candidate scares you with the (over stated) problems, the other offers solutions to those problems.

Who am I kidding, we're a country who loves to be scared.

Maybe so, but Trump has more support from independents and conservative liberals. Bernie will not get a single vote on the republican side.

You yourself said you'd vote for Bernie if Trump isn't running...

Plus, that route worked inn the past. You have to include Women, Minorities and young people.

Trump has Bernie beat on all you just suggested, according to the USA poll.

And I definitely would vote for Bernie. I'm not a typical republican though. I'm more independent with very liberal social views.

What poll? Because I doubt that minorites are more interested in Trump than someone who actually wants to help them.

that's an average of 3 polls, and also with little to no media representation for Bernie.

I wouldn't exactly pin my hopes on the guy who is in the news EVERY DAY and is barely beating a guy who is rarely on the news and isn't even the #1 candidate for President in his party.

Sounds like Obama and Romney last time around. The guy who got the media attention won.

And it's an average of polls PLUS the two most recent ones, including PPP Democratic Party poll. Every head to head poll since August, Trump wins. He was behind Sanders in those polls prior.

Anyhow, you asked about the polls.

I really really want to see Bernie and Trump as the two candidates. That would make for one hell of an entertaining election.

Not really it would be a dick vs a pussy, the electorate would just all be assholes.

    So, par for the course.

It wouldn't shock me if Trump picked Sanders to be his VP.

I don't think Trump could do anything that shocked me.... actually, I would be pretty surprised if he picked Hillary as a VP.

Rosemary Woods must work for Hillary.

    http://thehill.com/policy/national-...records-show-four-month-gap-in-clinton-emails

Initial State Dept. review found months-long gap in Clinton emails

“The Obama administration and Hillary Clinton have taken their cover-up of the email scandal too far,” Tom Fitton, the president of conservative legal group Judicial Watch, said in a statement. “I suspect that federal courts will want more information, under oath, about the issues raised in these incredible documents.”

Judicial Watch revealed the draft timeline on Monday as part of documents it received through one of multiple Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits against the Obama administration seeking to obtain Clinton’s emails.

“Judicial Watch’s discovery of the Clinton email ‘gap’ may take a place in history next to the discovery of the Nixon tapes,” Fitton claimed.

    Denny, Rosemary Woods is dead.

Your post didn't even mention the fact that Hillary killed her.
