...yup, as well as Toronto played, the Yanx in relation, played just as poorly. Not to mention that head to head, the Yanx were 6-13 vs the Jays...if the Yanx just win 4 of those games and finish 10-9 vs Toronto, they win the division by 2 games and would have till Thursday to rest everyone and would open the ALDS at home vs Texas.

Not sure what you mean but one thing which did catch my eye was you saying the Yanks would be in the basement if they didn't have a "hot streak". ??????

I guess the Yankees....(or any other team) aren't expected to have "a hot streak" during the course of a 162 game schedule....
?.......("absent a hot streak where many other teams struggled...this team would be fighting the Sox for the basement".)
Toronto had a two and half month "hot streak"......otherwise they would be BELOW the basement?........lets not get weird!

One more thing....if the Yankees win Tuesday vs Houston, do we attribute this to ONLY "luck" ("They may get lucky vs Houston").....?.......and if Houston should win, are they NOT lucky?

All of your worldly travels which you have no problem sharing, and this is the best you can come up with?

Damn Blg, you just never stop with this shit. your need to be right all the time is not only childish, its also very annoying. And your arguing with every poster here that has a different opinion then yours only enhances your stupidity, which I didn't think was even possible.

Do me & others here a favor, if your only purpose for coming back on this board was to be a sanctimonious pompous ass & to irritate everyone, you can go back to being an after thought. You bring absolutely nothing to the table & nothing of value. Having a different opinion is one thing, but your constant "I told you So's" & your juvenile LOLs is just you being a jerk.

Time to grow up & stop being a clown or take your very tired act to another forum.

^^^Rick, I didn't read what was said and don't care to, but I think you're just wasting your time and your breath. After disappearing for a month or so, I would have thought that maybe he'd finally got the message...evidently I was wrong.

Somebody had posted this on another board I frequent. It contained some good information.

    1) Conversation rarely maintains quality past 3 exchanges. After you state a point, counter a disagreement and make another response, you pretty much have played out a disagreement. There are no judges so debates are neither won or lost. If after 3 attempts you fail to convince someone that your opinion is the correct one, any more attempts are highly unlikely to change things

    2) Consider points of agreement rather than exclusively the disagreement. This was my mistake for many years. I would rarely post that I agreed with someone (and/or expand on a point) but I would post to respond to points I disagreed with. What happens if that's what you do is you tend to be seen as a disagreeable person. Turns out people don't like to always be disagreed with... who knew?

    3) Agree to disagree can be better than the last word. After all this is a community is being right more important than the friendships and the bonds? I can say in the heat of the moment being right seemed more important and that usually leads to regret.

    Finally

What I said you'd agree with. As would others. And yeah, I probably am wasting my time.

I didn't get a chance to respond to one of your posts from another thread when you said:
"6 loses in there last 7 games..............they backed in".

Well Rick.....I just to wanted to say-
The Yanks were the team with the lead and Houston, Angels and Twins just weren't able to SURPASS them....
Yanks- 87 wins, Houston- 86 wins....get it straight and stop contaminating the board with misleading negatives upon negatives regarding the Yanks AND Cashman.....
....but I guess you could continue your sour dour miserable narrative of a pretty good Yankee regular season.

Ask '59, I'm sure the Yanks provided HIM with a pleasant surprise the past 6 months.

    Shall I "lol".....or "rotfl" ?

ADD........? 'Attention Deficit Dis-Order', or 'Bi-Polar'..........?

    Honestly I think so,.........

Our middle Son only, had both. He was a victim of premature birth, 24 week arrival; born with both lungs collapsed, in ICU for 3 months. A friend who is a shrink was telling me, newer studies reveal Oxygen Deficiencies are often found, (as well as low heart beats), to be 1 reason for both.....just saying..........nothing to do with baseball, but we do have a real dis-orderly person on dreaded occasions......

    good stuff Messier............

not to change the subject but, ......I'm changing the subject for a moment.....

PS: looking forward to a Rangers/Kings Cup.......? (just busting your chops)......

(Kings, [as you know] - have had some drug scandals last year, ) the mystery continues....and I can't foresee the Kings even in the Finals....a Poisonous Atmosphere in the Locker Room, and private lives, ....... as a Pro-Athlete is there really much of a difference b/t personal and professional lives?

    AP: Summer of 015
Dean Lombardi terminated the contract of veteran center Mike Richards,
    • Mike Richards had an incident at the Canada/USA border in which the prescription painkiller oxycodone was involved. He was arrested, but no charges are being pursued against him at this time.
    • Stoll's arrest for possession of Cocaine and Ecstasy at a Vegas Party.
    • In the absence of more news, we have little to do except speculate. to how many drugs the rest of the Kings are doing, to surmising about how bad the culture must be in the Kings locker room,.........

Chicago is one helluva brutal team......

Obviously you have a problem with the way I display/comment on a comment which I tend to disagree or feel the need to question.....

    Unnerstan?

No offense but, what the fuk is your problem?
Are you his daddy? Is he NOT a big grown boy capable of engaging me with dialogue?

I thought I was asking rather nicely. I feel like a lock won't fix this situation, so this is my final warning. End the arguing, or administrative measures will have to be taken.

As I've said, this is a forum of adults, and I expect you all to act as adults...

    *sigh*

Hey Matt...glad to see you out from under your desk.
Did you read my reply to your cheap shot nasty inaccurate post about me?

You may recall....and the WORLD saw it...lol, ...
...here it is...your post #23 from the thread Yanx Season Win Predictions:

"There is not one person on this board, who did not want the Yanx to win a AL East Pennant.....

Some of us were reasonable, with our predictions, and one was Illogical, guess which one....hYanx s a hint, the same and only one, who thinks a naysayer, is NOT the same as a realist, or - the only one who can't see this team as over-achievers......

    I recall, your rants beginning with 96 Wins....then 94, then 92, your still slipping......what now, a 28th W.S. Ring.....

No, this Team was not in the mix in mid-Sept. They began their demise to less than mediocrity as of August 1st - thru September, to today...30-30 since Aug. 1st....and we're naysayers, again ? More like realist, an obvious concept; to complex to understand???.....

I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public.
I'm not being rude. You're just insignificant.

    I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem;
I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter".

    "Yanx Season Win Predictions"

    Here ga go-
    ____________________________________
    "You should get straight.
I never "began" with 96 wins....
The exact statement was "approx" 90 wins..... exact words. Look it up.
Actually, the usual suspect tried to twist "approx" and 90 into 92,93,94 wins.
    Understand?
Needless to say, at that point I had to do the usual dance with him and explain "approx" 90 wins means approx 90 wins....want to give or take a game in either direction would suffice for "APPROX" in my book.
    Understand?
    They won 87....realistic?
Was "approx" 90 wins further away and less "realistic" than YOU'RE prediction?

I picked them to win MORE games than you did...and they DID.
    Bye bye.

    Are you now stuttering?

Yanks were 2.5 games out of 1st place on September 20 with a game left vs Toronto.
Is that being "in the mix"?....in "mid-late September"?

    How silly do you feel?
    It's okay....nobody's perfect.

Please let me give you a little tip- try not to let being prejudiced against someone get the best of you. It's worse than being "rude"."

This thread has devolved from a discussion about win predictions to flame bait.

Since clearly this subject has lost the means to harness any real further discussion, I'll be locking it for now.

Message me if you think there is a better solution to this.

Those of you who have sent me messages regarding the issue, I've responded.

As for this thread, I'll be keeping it locked. No real reason in unlocking it; there's no really ignoring the fighting that's gone on.

As for flame wars in the future, Mess has made it clear to me that it's become such a problem that administrative action will be taken against the perpetuator(s). I personally have no interest in coming between these threads, and I'd totally be down with letting you guys discuss whatever you want, but I owe it to the community, Mess, and the forum administration to keep the forum clean.

From this point forward, threads that end up like this will be locked with no response. The personal insult bullshit has to be brought to an end, and if you're one of the people causing it (you know who you are), we will be looking at much more stern means of moderation.

I work 2 jobs, which takes up about 18 hours of my day, and I don't want to be spending the rest of my time reading childish arguments and flame wars.

To those of you who set the example, thank you for reducing the strain on the mods and community.

    Thanks,
    ~B
