So far this preseason: not impressed with Plumlee.

Believe it or not in my opinion the best back up point guard maybe also be one of the future bright starting point guards in the NBA, Patty Mills.

KS is right though, CJ is up there in terms of best back up point guards. If you look at the list you are talking about guys like Isaiah Thomas, Patty Mills, Greives Vasquez, Darren Collison, Jrue Holiday, Beno Udrih, Brandon Jennings, Jameer Nelson.

He could find himself in the top 3 easily by mid season. Might find himself as the best as kingspeed has said, but its definitely not his race to win.

    My horses:
    1.Patty Mills
    2. Isaiah Thomas
    3. CJ

This might be shot down by some stats but I don't think Portland is going to have trouble rebounding the ball this year. The length they have on the front court + SF is impressive.

Also I'd like to see Ed Davis get a shot at starting.

Completely agree - Meyers is getting better and better. Turns out he was a steal at #11.

I saw the highlight of Harkless hitting the three. I know his percentages were not great last year, but his form sure was encouraging. (effortless) Didn't they say he was working hard all summer on improving his outside shot? Wouldn't that be a gigantic bonus if he greatly improved his 3 pt shooting.

5-12 in only 20 minutes. Low efficiency gunner - at best.

    Mo Harkless = X factor

I'm excited to see how he progresses and proves he belongs. I think he'll be a valuable contributor to the team.

Just finished watching the game. I really wish we could transfer Kaman's low post game into Meyers.

Decent game. Utah missed many more shots then they will most nights although I liked our defense. The group that started the second half was interesting; Davis, Aminu, Harkless, Crabbe, CJ. I agree we will see a lot of opponents go small against us when Meyers is hitting threes. Meyers is so slow footed defensively it'll cause huge mismatches and problems for us on that end.

Yes Meyers will have a rebounding advantage but I don't think that'll be enough to keep him on the court. Plumlee had some good plays tonight. But that front court that started the second half was awesome defensively. It makes me wonder if Dame and CJ, our two best offensive creators, would be better starting with those defenders than the offensive Plums/Legend duo.

Aminu offense is going to frustrate me a lot this year. If the shot clock is low it's fine but we don't want to see him jacking three early in sets. Vonleh will find himself outside the rotation for games we go small which I'm fine with. I want to see young players earn minutes not be handed time and fail. There will be a front court injury at some point and along with the few games we stay big that will give Noah enough time.

Don't want to see our third string PG in games, Dame has never missed one so if CJ avoids major injuries it should be be fine.

That bounce pass Meyers threw sure looked like another tall white center who shot threes a lot...

All he needs are two moves. One go-to, and a counter. Add that to his face up game, FT% and outside shot, and you've got a consistent 15-20ppg scorer.

That bounce pass to Harmless was sick. One handed Kidd style!

I kind of disagree on this one. Teams don't go small to get faster. They generally go small to spread the floor for three point attempts.

Meyers isn't fast enough to block many 3 attempts, but he's fast and long enough to distract a little and reduce percentages on three pointers. Teams will hit a higher percentage against him than they would a quicker 6'8 power forward, but will it offset everything they give up in rebounding and interior size against Leonard (who is also hitting threes at a mouth-watering percentage)? If Meyers weren't making up a lot of the threes he'll cost the team on the other end of the court it'd be a different story.

But I think for much of his time here it will be the other teams with the matchup problem, not us.
