Event MLB Trivia, & a Question to the Entire Board...

below you will find 10 Trivia Questions on MLB.

I am proposing a Trivia Contest by Mid-November, (with turkey time off of course). With The Board some times at a lull, right after the Series, while awaiting Winter Meetings. I figure this could be a way to keep the regs or non-regs a going.

I'm proposing a Sports Trivia Contest, with bi-weekly Questions, with answers to follow by day 2. Each Post will contain 10 Questions, with approximately 50% of Q's will be on MLB, and will also contain the other sports trivia of: NFL, NBA, NHL, Golf, Boxing; and perhaps other sports many of you watch.

The 1st person to have all 10 questions answered first, will get 10 points. As time goes by over 2 days, a poster could possibly have 7 correct answers, in one day, and may come up with the next 3 answers on their own, while other persons with some Q's proper answers, cannot take another's answers, after the fact to claim as their own. If the other person say has the correct answers, the 1st player is missing. We will stick with the main sports more or less, Less Bowling, Women's Beach Volleyball, Bad Mitton, Ping Pong, or other events.

I am proposing a Door Prize to the Winner, which will probably be a good book on the Yankees, anything perhaps from 'The Mick', 'Torre The Yankee Years,' or a number of other very decent reading books. I will come up with those lists of books for the grand door prize winner, by the time I begin the Trivia Parade. The Winner will receive one of the books shipped for Free by myself.
Keep in mind this is a proposal at this stage and time, rules, timelines, other sports like Olympics, or others could be added, and anything could change over time, prior to the Trivia Q's being laid out on the first day. Once the game begins, possible suggestions can be implemented, tho' I'd rather hear all suggestions prior to starting.

6- On June 9, 1966 the Minnesota Twins became the first (and still only) American League team to hit five home runs in one inning – the 7th inning of a 9-4 home part victory over the Kansas City As. In the National League the feat of five home runs in an inning has been accomplished four times. This is one of those “ironic” rather than “iconic” questions. In each NL instance, the same team has been the victim. Name the team. Hint: This city gained some level of fame for a “dancing pig.” 2nd Hint:
“Cincinnati Dancing Pig,” a hit in the 1950s was revived in the 2001 movie “Riding in Cars with Boys.”

7- Let’s stick with multiple home run games. Name the teams that hold the record for most home runs in a game in the NL and AL.

8- Here’s an “off the wall” questions, but one baseball fans should be (or become) aware of. Juan Marichal was the starting pitcher in Major League Baseball’s only Hispanic-American All-Star Game, won by the National League by a 5-2 score. What year was the game played? Hints: It was the last MLB game ever played at the Polo Grounds in New York and Vic Power (honored as MLB’s top Latin American player) was a Minnesota Twin at the time.

9- As noted, the answer to question 17 made the All-Star team in a year in which he led NL in losses. The AL calls and raises one MVP. Can you name the only player to win an MVP Award while leading the league in errors as fielder and strikeouts as a hitter? Besides tap dancing and juggling baseballs, I had to find another outlet to make a living ........ or a hobby during retirement,.....not sure which, as it all varies day by day.

As much I'm open for any Lounge Singing Nights, at the nearest Holiday Inn, or other legendary Night Clubs.......

Are you sure about it not being Kiner Rob? he only played 10 years & had 369 home runs. And on #2 I think Mantle only missed about 10 games in 1961 so I'm going to guess Maris was IW maybe 5 times.

And #1 I was there but I don't remember the score since I was only 7. But I'll guess 3-2

keep up the good work, this is a decent (yet not so easy) a test, of an easier Trivia I'm proposing, though those Q's will be multi-sport Q's.

Here's the answers........Does anyone think we could get enough to play trivia say twice a week, for a month or so.....?? Q's will be a bit easier and cover more sports than MLB.........(as noted in the OP)

this reminds me of a buddy I had, a very fine Craftsman who died early in life. He used to squawk the piss out of Shuttle Jobs, then write pages of Discrepancy Reports, hand them back to Manufacturing, and say: "Read 'em and Weep"...!
