Oh great! A government run qualification filter. Even the private ones are pain in the ass depending on who you are.
When my daughter graduated from HS, she applied to Stanford. My personal thoughts were, Oh Shit! She was Valedictorian, science award winner with a 4.0 GPA. I thought this was really going to cost me! However, Stanford turned her down to "meet their diversity goals". She was bummed out, I was pretty happy since I though she would take the West Point offer. She didn't

So, what I see coming, is a whole lot of social engineering for equal out comes if the government had this addition level of control over us little people.

So in other words, they can continue to oppress the minorities and give wealth to the white man that are in school systems with higher test scores and grades.

No..it's a public school exam given to every student..has nothing to do with income or demographic...it's all score based which is biased in that some talented kids don't test well but that's how they do it.

Parents do hire tutors to give their kids an edge but it's not like that's a bad thing. You can take the test every year after high school too

How can a low income family hire tutors?

yeah...unlike our sports scholarship system where you can get a degree without ever having read a book...my son got an academic scholarship to OSU and we're not advantaged economically by any stretch..he worked part time but graduated with honors. I'm sure your daughter had schools that would accept her though.

I am saying that usually inner city schools are the highest of school drop out rates, usually having lower test grades. How will they be able to get proper graduate schooling if they can't afford to get proper schooling or tutoring?

They still have libraries now and still test low and have the highest drop out rate.

Libraries! That is a fascinating subject also. My wife's sister inlaw is head librarian back in DeKalb Ill. She just built a new Library, proud as hell about the accomplishment. It has access and then some more for the disabled and disadvantaged. Wheel chair access to every book, guided access help for what ever.

I asked her why, the access these days for a wheel chair to every book? I mean you can research every book you might want to read via the internet these days, why add the cost of physical access for a wheel chair? Just have a grunt bring the dude the book!

She blew her top! Because I am building this library and this is the way I want it!! I shut the fuck up.

Perhaps if you change the "They" to we, it will read so you can answer.

Several years ago Jackson County Oregon lost it's library funding, not sure if it's restored but I value the local library here
