Perhaps the sky isn't falling as fast as the doomsayers are hoping? Earlier today Duck commit Jared Maylon reconfirmed he's all Duck as expected. On top of that, highly rated Michigan LB and recent USC de-commit Daelin Hayes has scheduled an OV on November 21st vs the Trojans. STOMP
the twitterverse relays that California WR Dylan Crawford finally received an Oregon offer. He's a speed burner who has openly pined to be a Duck... pretty likely he ends up one STOMP
Oregon hosted a few kids on OVs for the Cal game including Australian Lineman Thomas Schaffer. He claims to be interested in UO because he's grown up a big nature lover & they were the team he rooted for and played on PS3 while growing up. How awesome is it that kids in Australia are growing up rooting for Oregon? The Ducks are supposed to be recruiting him for their DLine STOMP
in just 10 games (so far) in his Senior season, Oregon verbal WR commit via Tennessee Dillon Mitchell has a whooping 35 TDs. He also just sent off his official signed enrollment papers so that he will be enrolled for the Winter term in just over a month. STOMP
The Ducks recently offered Florida WR Eddie McDoom who plans on visiting this upcoming weekend. He's got good size, great speed & according to his coach both the work ethic and a love for blocking the Ducks target. He's also got offers from many of the top programs in college football. What are Oregon's chances of landing his sig? Below is a picture of his bedroom wall... Also visiting this weekend is California Safety Lamar Jackson. He's used up his Official Visits & is paying his own way to Eugene. He claims he'll be announcing near signing day. STOMP

Stopped recruiting Crawford, with the signing of McDoom and Wallace at WR along with long time commit Mitchell we're done with WR for this cycle.
Strong posibility our now 3rd highest ranked commit Vavae flipping to USC on signing day. He is visiting USC's campus now.
As far as total number of 4-5* recruits, not good compared to what they should have done following a Heisman winner/NC appearance year. It hurts to lose McDoom, Vavae, Howard, Mayden, Green. Mayden is the one that really hurts since CB is an area of need. On the positive side, we did get a number of 4* recruits in areas of need (LB). It can also be said we picked up the equivalent of a 5* recruit in transfer Dakota Prukop.
the only real answer for that is, we shall see. Recruiting is a very inexact science with obvious problems in the rating systems that often lead to wildly inaccurate judgments in hindsight. Highlighting this point is the starters from the Super Bowl champ Broncos who's average star rating coming out of HS (according to 247) was 2.44. That includes former Duck Safety TJ Ward who wasn't even rated & walked on for the Ducks. The various best guesses from the recruiting sites rated the overall quality of the 2016 class at about the same range that Oregon usually pulls...but thats on a per recruit basis. Rivals rated their class's average star recruit at 3.28, which was pretty much even with UCLA trailing only USC in the conference. Rivals also rated their class as the 28th best in it's most publicized list, but thats a cumulative score of a team's top 20 rated recruits and Oregon only signed 18 HS kids which is why they drop. Oregon continued recruiting leader/honor role type kids... I guess all 18 were team captains. Those sort of do gooders are part of why Oregon keeps having smaller classes. Guys aren't getting washed out yearly by the rigors of a college educations. I think they they met their roster needs pretty well, those being at QB and LB. They landed a lot of good looking prospects including QB transfer Prukop who (my guess) will be awesome bringing back the zone read running threat. Btw, as a college transfer he isn't counted in the site's lists, but you tell me... STOMP
Just my opinion, but since they don't graduate anyone this year from the DBs, it's not really that pressing of a need area... I'd guess this had something to do with Mayden's decom. Yes they struggled early but they picked it up down the stretch with the benefit of some better health. Following next season a couple of rotation DBs will have run out of eligibility including CB Chris Seisay. I'd expect to see a couple CBs in that class, hopefully including West Linn's Elijah Molden. STOMP
was wrong about that, Seisay will be a Junior next season. Maybe there will be attrition but the DBs will only graduate Reggie Daniels next year. Going into next season, there are only 14 Seniors on the team so expect the next class to be another smallish one... if only more kids were flunking out However, the following class figures to be huge as there are a lot of Juniors STOMP
