So they come in and raid our HC and fire him after 2 seasons. With the way players have come out against him publically, I don't think he'll get much interested in the NFL. But he was a very good college coach for us, so they just came in and fucked up our team. I don't know if there is any way he can come back to Oregon...maybe as the OC if we pay him a lot?

Chip Kellys ego would never let him come back to Oregon as an OC. If you fired Helfrich you might be able to get him back.

He is going to want to prove himself at the NFL level. and if not, high profile college teams will offer him head coaching positions.

I could see him going to San Francisco, but then again, Jed York HATED Harbaugh and Chip might be more egotistical than JH.

my feel is way more then Jed, it was the players who hated Harbaugh as there has been a lot of grumblings aired and alluded to after he left... LaMike was one of them. Demanding that your players be constantly more physical in games and practice might work in the short term but is a sure way to run a pro team nose first into the ground over time. This high burnout factor is why I don't expect to see Jim in the pros again... he needs the fresh bodies that the annual recruiting cycles bring.

The big issue I still see with Kelly's philosophy in the NFL is the smaller roster. Running a hurried up offense that doesn't value ball control dictates that your D is on the field a lot. At Oregon they could send in waves of defenders to keep guys from being gased by the end of the first half, but in the NFL active rosters are limited to only 53 players. Safe to say he's not going to be in control of personnel if he lands in SF, which is a good thing. He needs a GM who is in step with the unique needs of his team, but thats a full time job.

He went to Philly which is a hidden graveyard of coaches. Once the fans and media is disgusted a coach is as good as gone. Their fan base is based on the creed "win it or forget it". Meanwhile Andy Reid has the Chiefs as a legit contender for the SB. They not only beat the Texans but utterly de moralized them in front of their fans.
