Offer him what he didn't have in Chicago, a stable front office that supports him. And money. Lots of money.
If we do land him, I think it would be a coup. But still far fetched when better/more established rosters are right there. Curious to see if Neil has a connection to him or his agent.
I would love it if we looked at Kenny Atkinson from ATL, he's a young coach that relates to the players, has a European influence, and is tremendous at developing point guards.
I'm not sure im at the 'fire him' state yet, but the rotation thing is starting to seriously piss me off a lot.
I don't know if I let Stotts go after the season yet. But if Neil and Paul must be keeping there eyes open. What I don't like about Stotts is his defense schemes and it don't look like he holds players accountable of bad play. If he is it don't look like it that means players have stop listening to him if that the case you have no choice but to fire him.
I'm also on the Thibs bandwagon. I also believe we shouldn't fire Stotts unless we can obtain a higher tier coach. Don't fire Stotts to get Sam Mitchell\Alvin Gentry\Scott Brooks etc.
BKN,LAL and KYK are a mess, real crappy front offices. 76ers and Thibs are polar opposites. Toronto and Bucks can be 'nice' for him, but i don't see them getting rid of their current coaches. I don't see Thibs really mashing with Daryl Morey and his constant tinkering and bullshit "advanced" ideas. Wolves and Wizards can be good for him. It will be great if PHX hires Thibs and we can get Hornysack!
You can't fire him. He's actually got the team playing better than expected. On the other hand.... that would be a good reason to fire him! RIDE THE TANK!
Nobody noticed or acknowledged my picture earlier, so I'll be less cryptic. Tony Bennett, head coach at Virginia, is a guy I think could make the jump to the NBA successfully. He's won both at UVA and at WSU, is the son of a legend (Dick Bennett), is defensive minded, and has NBA pedigree (drafted #35 overall, played PG for the Hornets). Sure, Thibs would of course be the #1 option to replace Stotts, but as has been mentioned, he'll likely be high on many teams' lists, whereas someone like Bennett would probably be much more attainable.
I personally don't think Stotts is going anywhere..... How quickly they forget 21 game turnarounds and second rebuild in 4 years.
