I'd prefer a "what could be" over a "we know he's an overrated overpaid average player"

What has Stepan done ever for $6m a year and a NTC? That's the thing. It's a HUGE cap hit and add a NTC. He's overrated and overpaid for his CAREER production.

some said that about Brassard's contract being a little too high for the production...Staal and Girardi's contract are way worse than stepan

Graves with his 6th last night. Tambellini with his 12th. If that team had absolutely any veteran scoring down there, those two kids would have at least 10 more points each. Graves is not only one of the best defenseman prospects in hockey, he's probably headed towards being one of the top 50 prospects quickly. As usual, the anti-NY hating media doesn't even mention his name. Typical of the dumbasses who rank prospects.

I'm starting to wonder with graves coming quickly if we start to entertain any thoughts of signing Yandle and trading skjei with something for that forward we need. Of course the problem with that is dickhead AV would need to actually use Yandle properly (1st pp and more minutes than staal) to make it viable.

Not a chance. This team is slow now. Skjei is lightning fast. Plus, I'm not a big fan of Yandle's game. He's not fast. He doesn't have a big shot. He's average at best defensively. He doesn't hit. He doesn't clear the crease. He's a good puck mover. I'd much rather have Graves, Skjei and McDonagh on our left side.

Geez Mel, 'dickhead AV'? I know the Glass thing is a bit silly but that's a little rough no?

71, Glass thing is not silly, its a travesty as well as Yandle use and the burying of dylan all season for boyle and girardi so yes dickhead AV is more than appropriate.

AV has been a clueless dickhead this year.

Gropp has picked it up. Now with 27 G, 29 A in 53 games. Tambellin had his 13th last night. Good season on a poor offensive season for a kid that still needs to fill out. Europe prospects continue to shine. It's hilarious watching the morons on HF evaluate our prospects. They can't possibly be dumber and more clueless. Stating that Saarela doesn't have the upside of Buchnevich or Duclair is asinine. Those mental midgets didn't even know who Duclair was. When I was talking him up all I heard was how the Quebec league sucked and there was a reason he went in the 3rd round. Idiots. Saarela to me is a better prospect than Duclair was at the same age. Saarela is a good faceoff man, superior defensively and is putting up great numbers playing against men.

Saarela seems like a cross of Hagelin and Fast.

No way IMO that Skjei and Graves are traded as this team needs to cut the overpaid, dead weight they have on defense. Meaning. Staal is gone the second his limited NTC kicks in. Yandle should absolutely be dealt for a high pick and NHL forward. I am fine with Kreider being shopped as well. If a team made a huge offer for him that included a young, talented, right handed defenseman, that would free up moving Klein. Team needs to be broken down a good amount and rebuilt. It's not good enough.

Gropp had 1 G 1 A last night. He's coming on. Jensen 2 G 1 A. Graves was a +3. Halverson is on fire in the no defense, OHL. Saarela with 2 more goals. Monster numbers in the elite Fin league for a young player. On par with the other two fins who are projected to go 2nd and 3rd in the draft. Nobody will care about losing Duclair when Clarke drafted Buchnevich, Saarela, Gropp and Kovacs. Duclair's offense was never in question. However, he sucks defensively and I think like Kreider, he will always be one of those players who doesn't give a crap half the games he plays.
