I don't see either party having a monopoly on damage, inaction and operating in a manner that best serves themselves and not the American people.
I have to give you that..the entire system is rotten to the core, as is demonstrated in the current grass roots uprising around two very unconventional presidential candidates
I've seen the whole picture DaLincoln...I would hope all of us would not be defining the man by a policy they disagree with and completely discounting his accomplishments. I was really critical of Nixon and the second Bush but in retrospect in regards to Bush...I actually like what he's doing with Clinton in Haiti and disaster relief. Like you with Obama....I hated Bush and couldn't see past the hate. This country needs to stop hating and show some patience with the transition we're living through. The status quo in DC now seems to be to spend every tax dollar in Congress spinning to make the incumbent President unable to work across the aisle. Congress in my view has failed us miserably with a very transparent partisan agenda.
During a town hall meeting or some such about a month ago someone asked Hillary Clinton if she would consider appointing Pres. Obama to the Supreme Court. She said she had never thought about it, but said it'd be a great idea. So the R's can stall all they want, but it might not turn out too well for them in the end if they do. That would be so Hillaryous.
In simple terms...the republicans have turned their job...which is to work for the people..into an endless election campaign
Riverman..I do respect your opinion. I truly wish I could think of one thing that he has done that I agree with...I honestly can not.
I think over time, we'll look back on this post banking, auto industry, terroist, disaster ridden last few years as having pulled ourselves out of some big messes...not to mention the terror attacks that have been nipped in the bud before they got off the ground....I think taking on Wall Street, Banking, bailing out Detroit, natural disasters and fighting a very difficult enemy since he was sworn in have earned him respect for those accomplishments. He has the most difficult job on the planet and in my view...has rebuilt our loyalties from allies overseas. Many of the British are calling on banning Trump from entering the country. Trump has insulted Hispanics and Muslims...pissed off our closest neighbor in Mexico....you want a real mess....vote for Trump.
the constitution was designed to be amended and change as change was necessary http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/article/how-us-constitution-has-evolved-over-time
You can't think of anything, like even pardoning a turkey or something? I always liked that Bush built a little league field at the Whitehouse.
I was a pretty big fan of him taking out Osama Bin Laden...something we'd been trying to do for the better part of a decade...he said he'd get him and he did
If Obama nominates a conservative judge, republicans may approve. Otherwise, they can and should block any appointee. On the TV show West Wing, a justice died. In order to get an uber liberal justice approved, they got one of the other justices to retire and the president appointed an uber conservative and an uber liberal to replace the two. Not an impossible scenario. Trump is going to pick the next bunch of justices.
That one gave me pause as well...but Denny Crane admittedly suffers from mad cow, so I'll let it slide
