LOL...OV has been a no show as always.

I know Pitt was hot but I'm shocked the Craps aren't at least 2-2. That will be a huge blow to that team. I wonder what they do if they get knocked out.

2009-2010 121 points and out in the first round.

2015-2015 120 points and looking like out in the second round.

If you saw the Flyers series they were lucky it didn't end up 3-3 after they were up 3-0. I just don't think that team has the killer instinct. They always end up vulnerable in the playoffs. Plus, naturally the better teams shadow OV.

That is nuts if they still can't make it to the ECF's. They've made so many changes over the years to get to that next level and they still can't. Wonder if they'll consider moving Ov as he's been the only constant.

Unless they trade players, they basically have no UFA's. I would consider a deal of Nash for Hoffman and Chiasson without picks coming back Basically, Ottawa would be on the hook for the 4 million difference. Somehow, Hoffman ended up in the doghouse there. He's a shooter and this team badly needs one because they can't score for crap.

Though, I really feel the best fit would be to Detroit for Nash. A first, Tatar and a defenseman prospect. Something like that.

w/ Datsyuk retiring i believe the Wings are stuck w/ his cap hit for next year so it'll be hard for them to add any salary.

Detroit will trade the contract for a middling pick to a team that needs to get to the cap floor

Agree, Detroit will find a way to free up that cap. I don't know why if a player retires he would count against your cap. That doesn't make any sense to me. However, they need at least 1 player capable of helping them in the regular season to replace them. Nash can do that.

I think because it's an over 35 contract. He's turning 38 this summer and he signed it not too long ago. Cant sign some 40 year old who's only going to play 1 year to a 5 year deal to spread the cap hit out.

The Caps look tired, better wake up fast or they'll be another team heading home with just a President's Trophy.

I'm surprised they closed that loophole but kept another open where a team can get above the cap floor by trading for a retired player's contract.
