As you know, I hate Reese and how he isn't creative acquiring extra picks. However, in this case, I don't think the draft worked to him trading down. Apple from reports was loved by Miami and I'm not sure they take Tunsil at 13th if he is there. I don't believe for a second that Oakland or Atlanta take two, second round safeties with Apple there. I can't believe I'm saying this but this is the first draft I have loved so far in a long, long, time.

1st - Eli Apple B+ I didn't really pay attention to the CB talent on this team after they signed Jenkins. It sucks beyond belief and Cromartie is 30. Our secondary is in terrible shape unless it was addressed. While I didn't expect a corner pick, if you think back to how pathetic our corners and safeties were other than Cromartie and Collins(who did fine for a rookie with all that responsibility), it was mind boggling. Apple's flaws seem easily correctable and he doesn't have any pressure to start on top receivers with Jenkins and DRC. I really feel this will be a good pick.

2nd Sterlin Shepard A + Everybody seems to love this pick. I'm one of them. Dropped only 4.4% of his passes which was one of the fewest in the nation. Considering how many passes our moron receivers other than Odell dropped the past 2 seasons, they really need this guy. They needed a slot receiver in the worst way. I don't trust Cruz at all.

3rd Darian Thompson A - Our safeties suck. This player was projected to possibly go in the second round. The safeties on the roster have shown either no ability to get INT's or stay healthy. This is a player from all reports who picks the ball off a lot. I have zero confidence in any safety other than Collins and maybe Berhe to amount to crap. Safeties were getting way too much in FA. This was a badly needed pick.

I agree that the Giants stand a good chance of dealing for the tackle from San Fran. If they can pull that off, then these picks make even more sense. Fourth round I think they have to look at RB or ILB. I can't believe Matakevich hasn't been taken. The guy is a beast in the middle. Doesn't matter if he runs a 4.8. He has great instincts and plays all out, all the time. I would love the Giants to add him. He makes plays. How many fast players do we see in the NFL who are dumb as dogshit reading plays.

4th B.J. Goodson A+ Wanted Matakevich but it seems like everybody has raved about this guy. People stating he will start for 10 years. Raving about his football instincts, explosiveness, tackling and hitting ability. I can't believe it. The Giants are actually taking good players from top programs instead of reaching for guys from AA schools. The needed a legit, young ILB for the past 5 years. Hope this is it.

5th Paul Perkins B- Guess this spells the end of Andrew Williams sooner than later who has no ability to ever pick a lane to run through. They needed a RB. Sounds like the guy is a change of pace back so, maybe he'll fit in somewhere. Wanted a OL at this point. Analysts liked this pick a lot.

6th Jerell Adams A TE Projected to go in the 3-4 rounds. Giants are picking guys that are projected higher instead of picking guys not projected to get drafted. Tall, fast, decent blocker. Like the pick because Donholdontotheballel sucks.

Dont hate the Shepard pick, love the player but I was hoping for the tackle Spriggs from Indiana or possibly Ragland from Alabama (who went right after we picked). Goodson made up for missing on Ragland though, I really like that pick. Didn't know much about Thompson but sounds like a true ballhawk which allows us to move Collins back into the SS spot where he is a much better fit.

Overall I think this was a pretty good draft. Goodson was an excellent pick and Adams could potentially be a steal if he takes care of his off-field issues (they aren't series, but they are there).

Right side of the O line is still a problem, but this is definitely a better team

I agree with the Giants trading with San Fran for that tackle. I think that will happen.

I e-mailed the guy in the post who gave the Giants a C and told him he was a moron and not to write on football again. What a tool. This was actually a draft that everybody I heard said the Giants did amazingly well. He gave the Jets a B which was mind boggling. On paper, the Jets had a terrible draft.

PFF has the Giants at a B and the Jets at a C-. SI has the Giants at an A and the Jets at a B-. USA today Giants B- and the Jets C-. Prisco at CBS both gave the Giants and Jets a B.

This is the first draft in a very, very, long time I liked from start to finish. This draft might have saved the job of Reese.

We shall see how they spend the rest of their money. It's a long way off but they get to try once again to make a statement when they open up in Dallas.

They didn't need help on the DL for this year. Next year is different. They like OO but he got hurt last year. They spent money in FA to fix it. The offensive line was not bad at all pass protection wise. They suck run blocking. Yes, they need more there but it wasn't as bad as other units. I said due to the pathetic roster this was a 2 year fix. Hopefully, they fixed it enough to make the playoffs. However, I still think they are another draft away getting starters at OG or OT, DE and LB.

Depends, if they go 9-7 and miss the playoffs, I'm not sure he gets fired.

Haven't seen, or really paid any attention yet, to any rumors. Which tackle are you taking about and do you have any idea who would be going to SF?
