Saw ESPN articles today indicating that the Yankees should move Beltran. Better move bench A-hole, find a 1st baseman and sit Tex.

I was following ESPN Gamecast saw a side car comment by Marchand that Tex has struck out 47 times in his last 150 at bats, Yankee Fans were restless and the boos were starting to come. Yes nice win tonight, Eovaldi and pen put together a nice game.

Wow 6 game winning streak and I just found out that A-Roid confirmed that he will be playing with the Trenton Thunder again Wednesday night. That should make "Ricky Two Teams" happy.

13-5 in the last 18 and thankfully back to .500. Big games coming up so hopefully they stay hot and continue to move up. I'm just glad I look forward to turning on the games again.

Quite easy to presume the Yanks won't be a serious division contender....I wouldn't mind accepting the odds on 4 teams to 1 (Yanks) winning this division. But I'm resigned to hoping the Yanks are really much better than the first 6-7 weeks of this season and will have at least a better pitching staff than Boston, Toronto and Baltimore.
That's the best I can do- for now.
    Go Yanks

I don't think any East Team is a lock, but this Yankee Team has many ifs to be a successful playoff team. Enjoy the wins though especially over the East Teams.

^^^yup, I have seen very little if anything, from this team over the last 2-3 years that would inspire me to objectively consider them as a real threat to win another title.

...and the last 2 weeks of this season are not enough for me to realistically see them as much more than a .500 team...like you say, there are just too many question marks when compared to the rest of the teams in the division. And as it stands right now, every team in their division has a better ERA and I don't see that changing either just because I'm a fan of the team.

...the Yanx don't scare anyone anymore.

I've got to agree Ron, yeah this 6 game winning streak is nice but I still stand by my early season prediction of 82-84 wins. There are just way to many holes in this lineup.

    _______________

    Over the last 2-3 years?
I must've missed a couple of personnel changes the Yanks made to the 2016 team and the possibility of a couple of younger (26 yrs old) players maturing and improving their game,....jeez, what a concept!

As I sarcastically addressed in post #30 concerning a particular (obvious) mindset which has an anti-Cashman/Hal agenda: I wouldn't mind accepting the odds on 4 teams to 1 (Yanks) winning the division. It Doesn't take a genius.

Did you say "objectively"? Sorry but, I don't think it's in your DNA when it comes to the Yanks as long as Cashman if the GM and Hal/Hank own the team.
    Nice try.

It also doesn't take a genius to say the Yanks have too many "ifs"compared to the other teams.
lol, I always get a kick out of that one.

Maybe last year's A.L. East winner Toronto will eventually answer their "ifs"....right now they're in last place.
After all, they began the season with Donaldson and Tulow.

How about the team which beat the Yanks in last year's PLAYOFF GAME to earn an ALDS spot?
They're 10 games under and in last place.

Boston finished in last place the last two seasons....gee whiz, I guess this IS A NEW SEASON. lol

Will Jackie Brantley continue to be Willie Mays Jr.?
    Who knows?
Is Mookie Betts a legitimate "MVP" candidate? ←remember that one?
    Maybe, Maybe not.

    Baltimore? We shall see.

Then of course there's always a "sensible" way to look at things:
...."and the last 2 weeks of this season are not enough for me to realistically see them as much more than a .500 team...like you say, there are just too many question marks when compared to the rest of the teams in the division".

I guess this is easy to agree with especially the same people who had the Yanks dead and buried in April and early May.
    lol....fair enough.

Okay, lets review- ladies and gentlemen, here's your basic keen (cover your ass) school of thought..
    ....on MAY 25

    Here goes:
The Yanks won't win the division and aren't much more than a .500 team.

Wow! After typing that, I actually feel smarter.
    Thanks.

Okay, you can shut off your TVs when the Yankee are playing.

I guess you learn something new everyday.

    ...lol...@ edit, edit, edit .

... "Objectively" means being able to see things without the use of rose colored pinstriped glasses all the time...pretty simple actually. And sorry to break it to you, but I watch EVERY game, even when they're playing poorly.

...and gotta love the "now you see me, now you don't" routine...when the Yanx were losing you had lockjaw...hardly a post at all. Now that they've run off a small streak, you're back and predictably thumping your chest. If/when they start playing poorly again your chronic lockjaw will reappear.

...and fyi, I had the Yanx "buried" before the season started...at least I'm consistent.

    Could not agree more, Ron.

With a starting staff that is incapable of pitching 7 or 8
innings and a number 3 hitter batting below .200 and the team
is on a mini win streak to reach .500..........I'd say caution is the
word I would use as I watch this team play.

...^^^yup, but evidently I'm the bad guy even though my disdain for Cashman's and the Steins' mismanagement appears to be shared by most on this board.

Oh yeah, you're quite "consistent"..... consistently predictably negative- to the point where if anyone (a very short list amoung these Yankee fans) suggests other possible scenarios or outcomes, you simply dismiss it as coming from someone who is blinded by rose colored pinstriped glasses and waving pom poms.

Sorry but I'm not going to engage in the usual pity party circular firing squad everytime the Yanks lose a couple/few games in April and May, or anytime there is still a reasonable amount of games left for the team to make up ground, or doesn't require a spectacular "comeback" from deep in the standings...
    ...got all that?.....lmao

    {...and gotta love the "now you see me, now you don't" routine...when the Yanx were losing you had lockjaw..}
Nah, you're wrong.....you haven't any control over my personal affairs and I have NO PROBLEM whatsoever posting when the Yanks are LOSING.

"Now that they've run off a small streak, you're back and predictably thumping your chest".

    I'm thumping my chest?
Why, because I mentioned how sweeping any team four straight is hard to do?
Are you sniffing glue? I guess maybe that's the different between me and some Yankee fans who are just plain old miserable pessimistic people who are joyless and have established themselves as having a bias towards Yankee management and thus must always feel the need (in their minds) to try and show everyone how resonable and realistic they are regarding the long haul of a baseball season.

Got news for ya - you're not the only one who has a calendar, can count up to 162 and figure out how many games the other guys are ahead of the Yankees.

I'll bet you secretly grit your teeth and get annoyed when the Yanks are playing better than "expected"...lol.

Now where were we?.....oh yeah....how about "blowing up the roster" in APRIL and early MAY because the Yanks were 7-8 games out of first place....OR, trade Gregorius and move Castro to SS after he was rightfully criticized for making a ton of errors with the Cubs...lol, oh yeah, that was real sound suggestion by one of our board stalwarts. How about "trading Chapman" (in May)...? How about trading Beltran? Yippie!!!! Why not?
Let's chuck the whole team away before they at least have a chance to *play 40 games.....yippie!!!!!!
Yep, that makes sense, trade Chapman and break up the trio of relivers who last year were FIRST, SECOND and THIRD in strikeouts per 9 innings....particularly when your SP have been struggling to go 6 innings -
Oh yeah, that came from a "REALISTIC" Yankee fan sans rose colored pinstriped glasses.....lmao. ......

By the way....just curious- which team did you pick to win the A.L. East before the season began?
I have to believe it was the basic ATBY- Any Team But Yankees.
Sure why not....as I said, it's easy to cover your ass by picking the rest of the field against one team.
