Unfortunately for a vocal...minority? I dunno, on here, the truth lies firmly to one side. So be it. Always the same on here. Bitch at the draft, bitch at the trade deadline, bitch at free agency. Call for heads, whine about inactivity. Then, when there is activity, call it a panic move. Then demand more activity. Then bitch more at the lack of panic moves. Panic. Repeat. Repeat. Fucking hell.

I dont know if i agree with that. Sometimes the homers can drive me crazy. And the fall is skying people can drive me crazy. (For the record, i have been on both sides over the years). Sometimes i realize i was overreacting, but thats part of fandom. We arent the ones employed by the team to make decisions and have no idea how the conversations in trade or free agents actually went. But its still ok to criticize players like dames shot selection, stotts rotations etc. Its just a part of fandom.

Bitching is annoying, but deep throating the team is just as annoying. Hence why the truth usually lies in the middle.

I have been on both sides of the spectrum as well, but it's so funny how an ounce of negativity is perceived on this forum. If you go look at any other teams message board you'll find that we are actually pretty tame when it comes to criticising our basketball club.

The truth of the matter is, not all deals are good deals. Not everything turns out well. There are people that swear to this day they would do the Afflalo trade again if it came down to it. The Felt on for Miller trade was a disaster the moment it happened, but if you find the thread you'll see people trying to rationalize it as a good deal.
There are tons more examples but the honest truth is if I'm gonna get called a bitching negative Nancy for panning a move I don't like then so be it.
I like reading posts from people that aren't stuck on one side of the spectrum. I've ignored some of the permanent negative trolls, but the mounds of ass sniffers are starting to become annoying as well. I dunno, this community is good most of the time but sometimes it's just a huge fucking circle jerk.

    For reals.

One of my best friends is a blazer fan and is way more negative than i. If he posted on here peoples heads would explode. Dude calls me a mega homer all the time. But if i dislike a move (and probably overreact a bit) it ends up with people questioning my fandom.

    Smh.

Except nobody in favor of Turner has been an obnoxious homer saying how awesome it is, greatest signing ever, championship! Yet a shit load of people have been whining and bitching the last 3 days for Neil to do anythig, every time one name is signed, they whine more saying OMG, is he on vacation what the hell. It happens all the time! It's really fucking pathetic. I'd be ashamed at my child acting this way. I expect this out of some asshat like PapaG. But it's the exact same shit as the Harrison Fucking Barnes thread, and how many people were pissed off at Neil and called for his job when he drafted Lillard.
I'm not saying trust everything he does. I am saying that we had a severe lack of ball handling on our team. That our 3rd best ball handler was our damn center, which is bad. And we added a very good playmaker. Neil didn't come out and say we need a rim protector. Fans said that. SO they clamor for the top rim protectors, even wanting to pay Aldrich twice what he got. But as a team we were good at protecting the rim. And fans somehow miss that. And need us to commit a shit load of money to a guy who will arguably play 20 minutes a night or so. Everyone hates Plumlee. Then he has an awesome series against Clippers, and people swing. Then GS, swing back. People love Biyombo off of 5 good playoff games without seeing plumlee doing the same against the clippers. It's a grass is always greener and it's really annoying.
I'm not trying to be an obnoxious homer. But the same way the other assholes are realists when they can say everything is bad, I can be a realist and say that we needed aplaymaker for our team, and TUrner is a very good signing. Beyond that, like the barnes thread, I lok forward to bumping this thread and others so all of the pants shitting that has gone on, the demands to sign someone, do something, pick up the phone, can be seen. It's ridiculous.

    I've never questioned your fandom.

Your sanity, maybe, but never your fandom. ;)

Damn dude. Take a deep breath lol. Nothing to get this worked up over.

Idk what to tell you. I agree turner does some things we could use, i just hate that he is not a good 3 point shooter and has said in interviews he does everything else well and it didnt seem to be a big priority for him to improve. Plus the sticker shock of how much he cost. And the let down of us thinking we would get someone better. Doesnt mean he cant help our team.

Plumlee. Idk. I think he is our 3rd best player, just think hes gonna be expensive next year. I agree with you on biyombo. No thanks. His body of work is bad.

Fans just go crazy every direction over teams. And they could have gotten shit all over at work and just wanna take it out on others. Bottom line, adults suck.

Just let it go and accept we are all a bunch of asshats sometimes.

Haha well cant blame you there. But im pretty sane. Most of the time;) im just an accountant so im more skeptical of things, like bargains, and hate feeling like ive overpaid for something. Which carries over into fandom. And its interesting because even in this realm, i seem to butt heads most with fans that are the creative types.

Another thing about turner that might've not been mentioned is he developed a reputation in Boston as a clutch player late in games. I remember the Blazers being one of his victims as well.

He though there should have been a jump ball before Turner got the ball?

So now we know who Eric's "Celtics fan friend" is. (Incidentally, he's quoting the earlier, $5M higher figure for Turner's contract.)
