I gotta say, after watching Bill Clinton give his convention speech, I am so much more on board with Hillary.
Last night a lot of short speeches to showcase that Hillary the person cares, and that Clinton the politician got things done. Some were very effective. I knew that handicapped children had been kept out of public school, but was unaware that Clinton fought for their inclusion. I thought the woman who was so badly injured on 9/11 was very effective. She was burned over more than 80% of her body and given only a small chance to survive. She said she was determined the terrorists would not add one more to their body count. She talked about how Hillary Clinton visited her in the hospital and held her bandaged hand and encouraged her. Then we heard how the original 9/11 bill included no money for New York, incredibly, and as NY Senator Clinton fought to include it. And that Trump used a loophole to cash in although none of his properties were damaged! Bill Clinton I thought rambled on too long. Although some folks disagreed. I missed the actual nomination, dammit, as I had a medical appointment and started my watching late. I know I can re-watch on line but not the same. I'm glad attention is being focused on what is going on and not the 150 or so pouters. PO'd that Cory Booker's great speech got almost NO media coverage outside of the New York/New Jersey area.
Like you, I thought Booker's speech was great, but the talking heads seem to think it was too "shouty". I would have been happy to listen to Bill for another hour, myself. barfo
9/11 first responders are crooks and liars? People with disabilities who got an education are crooks and liars? Meryl Streep and Alicia Keyes are crooks and liars? Women who lost children are crooks and liars? Damn, Denny, you have a pretty wide description of crooks and liars.
You forgot about the illegal immigrants they had up on stage... my definition of a crook is a person who breaks the law....so in this, he is right.
The teller of truth to power. Saying something untrue doesn't make you a liar, it makes you mistaken. Saying something untrue and knowing it's untrue does. Everyone knows what Hiliar is.
Seems pretty contradictory. I'll go with your last answer, though, and assume you are just 'mistaken'. barfo
How many times will Obama stutter tonight? Will Biden have a hilarious gaffe? How many sentences will Tim Kaine recite in Spanish? We can make bets.
