Why It’s Time Black People Simply Disengage With White People In Discussing Race

This thread organically shifted in that direction.... but apparently I pissed off Dviss because I said that police shootings are lower on my list of problems in this country.

I get it, in this modern internet age where we get to see a lot of these shootings on video, it's easy to get extremely angry and passionate about police shootings. But 1,200 people total is small. There are 1.1 million cops in this country. Doesn't it stand to reason that there would be a small percentage that are nutjobs?

If 1,200 cops ended up shooting someone, that means 1,098,800 cops did NOT shoot someone. So only 0.001% of police in America killed someone. How can that possibly be the problem that it's being made out to be? if the media put out news stories about every single person that died from every single reason such as cancer, car accidents, suicide, choking on a piece of steak, etc..... this place would be an extremely depressing place to live.... or we would get desensitized to it.

The war on drugs IS a war on black people. The CIA imported crack into LA whilst simultaneously making the penalty for hard cocaine WAY larger than for soft.

Whites and blacks imbibe in marijuana at about the same percentage, however blacks are four times more likely to be arrested for it.

 

Exactly. So let's get rid of that shit. No more war on drugs, and A LOT of these issues would diminish significantly.

My ex lady's brother James Perez (black/latino) was pulled over by police on N Fessenden for signaling too late. James had no priors. Without probable cause and a COMPLETE violation of James' 4the Amendment right, overseers.. er... officers wanted to search the vehicle for nonexistent drugs. James, well within his right to be secure in his person, papers, and effects, refused to be searched. 97 seconds later unarmed James was dead.

 

That's not just a black problem. Deaf whites, and young profiled white teens (among many others) are also suffering from the "overlord" abuse of power bro.

 

Hate drugs, hate the war on drugs. That's a tough subject for me. Went into a beauty supply store with my wife a few weeks ago. I've been there a few times but not that often. We'd noticed that a "medical" Marijuana place went in a few doors down.

The beauty supply store now has cameras pointed everywhere and a bell on the door. Asked the girl at the counter about it and she asked if we'd seen the new store a few doors down.

I said "yeah, they come in here?"

She said "oh lord yes they come in and wander around acting weird and stealing stuff"

I've seen the dirtbags that hang out by these stores so I wasn't really surprised.

If prison didn't cost us anything I probably wouldn't care if they never got out. But it does.....

Bill O'Reilly grew up in a legislated whites only community. Bill O'Reilly LOVES to whitesplain. He is constantly whitesplaining what is wrong with the Black community. Bill O'Reilly was shocked to see Black people behave in a civilized manner in a restaurant. Bill O'Reilly claims Beyoncé is to blame for all of what he whitesplains are problems in the Black community and young women generally. Beyoncé is a wildly successful artist and businesswoman who, moreover, has been with the same man her entire adult life and her children were born in marriage. Bill O'Reilly, whitesplainer and moral arbiter of the Black community, whose wife divorced him due to abuse and whose children won't speak to him for the same reason. Bill O'Reilly, who mansplains to young women about their immoral behavior, facing his second multi-million dollar sexual harassment lawsuit. And Bill O'Reilly is still on TV whitesplaining the moral failings of Black people.

 

I'm sorry dude, but I don't see why street bums would wander into a beauty supply and steal shit...they don't even bathe...medical marijuana clinics here are too expensive for bums to hang around...the folks I meet running them are very sharp businessmen...many war vets...I think you're sensationalizing the medical marijuana business....my 2 cents. There are more bums at the local laundromat than the medical shops

And you're still talking about him, probably YEARS after he said that shit. If you think he's a tool, ignore him. He's on TV because he gets ratings. He says inflammatory shit because it gets ratings. It boggles my mind how easy some people are to manipulate.

 

There's no statute of limitations on being an asshole. .....saying inflammatory shit for ratings doesn't change that and just yesterday was accused of sexual harassment again....maybe you haven't kept up with him for years, but he's a jerk. You don't need to watch TV to know that...I don't watch TV but he's in the newspapers and on the internet....Donald Trump says inflammatory shit and it got him ratings too....that's some people prone to manipulation..what you should realize is these guys have years of practice at being assholes

 

Local story that got no media play. Police show up at dudes house to serve warrant. Dude high out of his mind on crack bursts through the front door with an ak-47 and opens fire. Police hit him once in the arm and subdue him without any deaths. How the fuck is that guy still alive? Guess his race?
