Continuing on from his blistering start to his career, welterweight prospect Conor Benn (5-0, 3 KOs) certainly showed why he’s been touted for special things in the future in defeating Ross Jameson (1-2) by a 6-round points decision last Saturday night in front of a vocal Manchester crowd on the undercard of the Anthony Crolla vs. Jorge Linares event.

Being the son of Nigel Benn is no easy feat with the added pressure of living up to the household name. Putting that to the side tonight he produced a solid display as he brushed aside his opponent, Ross Jameson with the decision gong all the way to the judges with a unanimous decision going to the home corner.

As the bell rang both fighters came out firing with plenty of exchanges in the first round. Not being able to inflict any pain on Benn, it was evident Jameson’s desire was slowly fading heading into the latter rounds. As the rounds went there was no sign of mercy from Benn as he looked to secure his 4th KO of his career with all diligence going out the window.
