She channels a bit of Brody Dalle in this one, and that ain't a bad thing.

That is Bob Dylan in a "Demo" version recorded in, I believe, the mid-1960s.

Man if there was ever a band who "could have" ruled the world, it was The Stone Roses.... talk about being at the forefront of a new generation. Oasis just picked up the ball they dropped.

Got into Sister Rosetta Tharpe when I was reading about the old folk/blues boom in America and England during the sixties. Renowned producer Joe Boyd was her tour manager and wrote about her in his autobiography. She's a hge influence on 60's British guitar players as well as modern electric players like Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys, who's a big fan. Gibson may have made a reissue of one of her guitar models, but I am not sure. Truly, an incredible artist.

Can you believe that she's not in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame? Not to my knowledge, anyways.

    It's a cryin' shame.

That's because it's The Hall of Lame Cock Rockers, Nerd Pedant Revisionists, and Celebrity Ass Lickers. Rock N' Roll is supposed to be a music for the common people, the oppressed masses and the outcasts of society..... Not a club where inductees can't even get into their own inductions unless they pay 1000 bucks a plate. It's a crock of shit.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe..... Not a Member.
The Runaways..... Not Members. (outside of Joan Jett)
Suzi Quatro...... Not a Member. :banghead: SUZI FUCKING QUATRO!!! She's one of the most groundbreaking rock 'n rollers who ever lived!
Carol Kaye...... Most Prolific Session Bassist in Rock History. (Not a member.)

And God forbid you play in a musical genre that isn't hip or cool with the rock critics like proto-punk or heavy metal. You'll be like Deep Purple and The Stooges and get in when all your key members start dying.

It isn't a relevant institution. It's about as relevant as The House of "Fuckin" Blues..... :nunchaku:

Wow, I REALLY like that song. Good find! Gonna download it!

I don't follow these kinds of things, so if you say so, then I have no reason to doubt you. I just found it incredibly odd that she wasn't in the HOF. Now I see why.

Well your talking to a fan boy here. The kind of guy who can give you dissertations on the relevance of The Who over Led Zeppelin. And I'll be the first to admit it. I'm a music nerd/nervy vinyl freak. But I fly that flag proudly till the day I die. :smiley-smiley-049:
