Life, basketball -- none of it turned out how he had dreamed. Now Greg Oden is starting all over again. Emotion overwhelmed Greg Oden as he picked up his identification card at Ohio State University inside the student center, surrounded by giddy 18-year-olds. What happened? He thought to himself. What happened the past 10 years? http://www.indystar.com/story/sport...n-m-still-trying-figure-out-my-life/92845362/
He made almost 100mil just off blazers didnt he? how can you waste that much money? you should be set for life.
I find it hard to feel sorry for someone handed 88 million dollars and they fucked up their own life. bad luck or not.
Aah i thought it 22mil a year but i guess im a retard rookies dont make that. still, thats a lot of cheddar to blow on giant condoms and liquor.
I'm confused. Where in the article did it say he's broke? Nowhere in the article does it even insinuate that...
Why else would you be all depressed and going to jail and shit? you made more money than most people dream of and you hardly did shit to earn it. suck it up princess time to quit feeling sorry for yourself and actually do something with your life.
Of course, but it doesn't help the body heal from surgery, nor keep the athlete in peak condition to stave off injury. . .
True dat. Seen those methods work first-hand. When I asked of his good health in later life - my grandpa would would say it was because he kept himself 'pickled' from his secret flip-top scotch stash in his walking cane.
I also don't see he's broke. But even if he has money, he's 28, what is he supposed to do for the rest of his life? I see it sad. He has known nothing but basketball since 4th grade. He never had to learn anything else. I'm glad that at a still young age he is realizing he needs a new path. Whether the rest of his life is satisfying and valuable is up to him. He does seem to be trying, although frankly I think he got off too easily on the assault. (no doubt a good lawyer) It's good to have great talent but an athlete also needs to learn to be a person.
It was a moving article. Can't argue with the frustration Oden's career must have been for him. I never blamed him for his injuries, was just disappointed, and surely he was more disappointed than anyone. I wish him the best, hopefully he finds his way, maybe he could find his place as a coach or an assistant and I guess his most important work would be with himself, to accept the frustration and the failure of his NBA career and move on from that
I'll give Oden a life lesson...number one....don't hit women....number two...don't hit them again after the first time or second time.....chew on that Greg
