Cowboy will get his show money.

Alves will not be permitted to be over 173-lbs. tomorrow or his fight with Jimmy Miller will not happen.

    MAIN CARD (pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)
    • Lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez (154.6) vs. featherweight champ Conor McGregor (154.4) – for lightweight title
    • Champ Tyron Woodley (169.8) vs. Stephen Thompson (169) – for welterweight title
    • Champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk (114.4) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (114.4) – for strawweight title
    • Yoel Romero (185.6) vs. Chris Weidman (185.8)
    • Donald Cerrone (170.4)+ vs. Kelvin Gastelum (n/a)+
    • Raquel Pennington (135.8) vs. Miesha Tate (135.6)
    PRELIMINARY CARD (FS1, 8 p.m. ET)
    • Frankie Edgar (145.4) vs. Jeremy Stephens (145.8)
    • Michael Johnson (155.8) vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov (155.8)
    • Tim Boetsch (185.4) vs. Rafael Natal (185.4)
    • Vicente Luque (170.6) vs. Belal Muhammad (170)
PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 7 p.m. ET)
    • Thiago Alves (162.6)* vs. Jim Miller (157.6)* – 163-pound catchweight
    • Liz Carmouche (134.8) vs. Katlyn Chookagian (135)
    * – Alves missed the 156-pound limit and was fined 20 percent of his purse. Because the commission required them to be within five pounds of each other, Miller added weight to make the bout with Alves official. Miller wasn’t fined, and Alves can weigh no more than 173 pounds on fight night for what is now a 163-pound catchweight bout.
+ – Fight is off after Gastelum opted not to weigh in

Jacare Silva was hanging around just in case. He weighed in at 189. No plans to use him. Too heavy, anyway.

This is the third time Gastelum has failed to make welterweight.

dammit!!! never want to see Cowboy off a fight card.... Gastelum doesn't deserve another fight with Cowboy either. How can you be that dumb as to not make weight for one of the biggest cards ever.

Thiago Alves blames food poisoning on his failed weight cut.

Not the first time Alves has missed.

There is a fine line between being a showman, hyping up a fight, and selling a fight vs. being a prick. Alvarez crossed the line there. Conor has turned his life into an extremely successful financial venture; so I really don't think Alvarez has any room to talk shit.

McGregor's opened himself up to this by being a lunatic. Trying to throw a chair at Eddy and trying to big boy Woodley at the weigh-ins? I think he's losing the plot. He also hasn't been the least bit clever this week. Just repeated schtick. Fuck this, fuck that, I'm the best... he dresses up like Joe Frazier then acts like a two-bit Ali? Bizarre.

He said Alvarez was fighting bums in Japan. Alvarez was a world champion fighting ranked fighters in Japan when McGregor was sitting at home, 21, 22 years old, on the dole, not wanting to work.

Fair or not it isn't inaccurate. When McGregor calls people bums now he's probably projecting more than a little.

There are guys in the UFC right now that paved the way for McGregor. I can't recall a single instance in which he's given anyone credit for that. He didn't build the UFC or the sport. Eddie's been a pro for 13-years.

Well said, I was not sure what Alvarez was referring to in the press conference when he asked McGregor to apologize. However McGregor has been crossing the 'line' for some time now. His train will eventually slow down.
