We do it to them and their elections.

Didn't Obama try to swing Israel's last election?

That would imply that Assange ever vetted anything before dumping it on the web. That sounds like complete bullshit.

    Trump.

    Damaged his own efforts plenty.

Similar republican emails would show what?

That the party machine opposed him? It would have helped Trump.

I don't know. Maybe they have dirt on Trump from his various trips to Russia and want leverage over their new "friend?" I can think of a number of reasons why Putin would prefer Trump to Hillary. But like I said, we don't know if we have the full picture.

Or maybe they don't want the war Clinton was steering us toward.

Plus, the FBI did investigate Trump/Russia and found nothing at all.

Do you really want tit for tat with every shitbird thing we have done? The slippery slope. We deserve a reckoning. But I don't want one.

The only thing we know for sure is that the CIA always lies.

Every fucking time they speak, it's a lie.

    It's what they do.

Actually that's not what he said. He specifically said the stuff he had wasn't even as bad as what trump said outwardly already. Assange did not like Trump as much as Clinton. Let that be known.

Let me guess... you think Assange works for Putin? LOL

    Duh.

I bet Mr. Walsh sided with Saddam over our intelligence agencies.

    What a loser.

This is what adversaries do to each other; covert acts to destabilize or weaken their opponent. The Russians and the Chinese are natural geopolitical adversaries and them fucking with us (or us fucking with them) doesn't have much to do with "revenge," it's just the expected course of events when powers jockey for primacy. So score one for the Ruskies this time around, but us stopping covert actions and psy-ops isn't going to make the Russians (or Chinese, or anyone else) stop their operations.

There are 2 kinds of hacking. The first may lead to the second.

The first kind is where a person uses "password" as his password and the hacker simply guesses it. Once in, he can read the person's emails. What he's sent, and what he's received. But not all messages in the organization the person belongs to.

The second kind is where the hacker attacks the machine that holds the person's email, and the emails of many others. Once in, the hacker can read every email any of the people who use the server have received or sent.

If the first kind is successful, the server may be more vulnerable to hacking. Suppose the person is the administrator and the administration password is also "password."

When it's Podesta's emails that have been leaked, it suggests that it is Podesta's email account that was hacked.

WikiLeaks' own WWW page suggests it may have only been Podesta's and 6 others'.

    https://wikileaks.org/dnc-emails/

Starting on Friday 22 July 2016 at 10:30am EDT, WikiLeaks released over 2 publications 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments from the top of the US Democratic National Committee -- part one of our new Hillary Leaks series. The leaks come from the accounts of seven key figures in the DNC: Communications Director Luis Miranda (10520 emails), National Finance Director Jordon Kaplan (3799 emails), Finance Chief of Staff Scott Comer (3095 emails), Finanace Director of Data & Strategic Initiatives Daniel Parrish (1742 emails), Finance Director Allen Zachary (1611 emails), Senior Advisor Andrew Wright (938 emails) and Northern California Finance Director Robert (Erik) Stowe (751 emails). The emails cover the period from January last year until 25 May this year.
In spite of the questionable reporting by the NY Times and WaPost, dubious sources in their own right, I've seen enough of the hacker community to know that it doesn't take a government sponsored group to hack into accounts or systems. Plenty of teenaged kids are able to do it using a laptop from their parents' homes.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/07/20/teenage-hacker/

Teenager who hacked governments worldwide is spared jail

And it was such a teenager who claimed responsibility for hacking Clinton's server.

    GUCCIFER 2.0 HACKED CLINTON FOUNDATION
Many of you have been waiting for this, some even asked me to do it.

So, this is the moment. I hacked the Clinton Foundation server and downloaded hundreds of thousands of docs and donors’ databases.

Hillary Clinton and her staff don’t even bother about the information security. It was just a matter of time to gain access to the Clinton Foundation server.

Here’s the contents of one of the folders that I got from there
