He is by far the most talented out of teh group when it comes to dunking, not too mention that dunking is oen of teh few things that Rivers allows Green to do.
Yeah, I forgot. Doc Rivers doesn't allow Gerald to play great defense, rebound like a mad-man, get good ballhandling skills, or be consistent.
Why are you guys ragging on Tyrus Thomas this guy has so much athletic ability it's unbelieveable and he can really jump. I want to see how he performs in the contest.
Well, like GrizzfanTaylor said at FBB.....Rudy made the Rookie/Sophomore Game...Ty Thomas didnt. :yes1:
Man, the way Josh Smith has been dunking against the Lakers proves that he should have been included in the Dunk Contest.
I don't mind Nate being in it again. He supposedly has crazy dunks, and last year I'm sure he just kind of got choked up on the big stage. He almost got an off the backboard through the legs down!
Yeah, I actually found Nate to be interesting, up until he screwed up with that off the backboard between the legs jam. He will most likely deliver something good in the dunk contest this time, though. He doesn't want NBA fans to hate him because he couldn't deliver that fire, man.
Green should win. Quite easily if he shows some creativity. Seems contestents are getting weaker every year.
No...more and more better dunkers are coming...but some idiots would rather see Ty Thomas rather than Rodney Carney, Rudy Gay and let 5000 Attempt Robinson come back.
Haha off topic but I don't remember making this thread. As a matter of fact I know I didn't because I wasn't even at work yet at 2:55 yesterday

Next year they have to bust out the big Dunk Contest Tournament. East vs. West, 8 dunkers for each side. I can see it now...Representing the Eastern Confrece Boston's Gerald Green, Orlando's Vince Carter, Charlotte's Gerald Wallace, Chicago's Tyrus Thomas, New York's Nate Robinson, Philadelphia's Andre Igoudala, Cleveland's Lebron James, and Atlanta's Josh Smith. Representing the Western Confrence Los Angeles' Kobe Bryant, Golden State's Jason Richardson, Houston's Tracy McGrady, Phoenix' Amare Stoudamire, Memphis' Rudy Gay, Denver's JR Smith, Portland's Travis Outlaw, and Oklahoma City's Desmond Mason. And your judges are former greats Michael Jordan, Julius Erving, Dominique Wilkins, Spud Webb, Tom Chambers, Cedric Cellabos, Dee Brown, Magic Johnson, Kenny Walker, and Larry Nance. In the first matchup Gerald Green reps the East well, knocking Desmond Mason off the list. The West gets there redemption when Jason Richardson lands five 10's, giving Nate Robinson the boot. The West then takes the next three matchups as Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, and JR Smith get the crowd on there feet as they knockout the East's Dwight Howard, Gerald Wallace, and Tyrus Thomas. Vince Carter does his thing, gets his straight tens, giving first timer Rudy Gay a seat on the bench. Andre Igoudala and Lebron James follow up Vince Carter with some 50's of there own, eliminating Amare Stoudamire, and Travis Outlaw from the tourney. After the round one matchups are set, Vince Carter, Gerald Green, Andre Igoudala, and Lebron James are left standing for the East, as Kobe Bryant, JR Smith, Jason Richardson, and Tracy McGrady are left repping the West. In round two, the tournament changes to every man for himself. The vets come up big in the second round, as Jason Richardson, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, and Vince Carter do there things to get themselves into the final round. In the final round, each competitor gets just one attempt, and the judges will vote for best dunk rather then grading each dunk 1-10.Vince Carter is up first, he puts the blind fold on, runs up to the semi-circle under the hoop, jumps off both feet, and throws down the under the legs twice, blind folded dunk. Jason Richardson comes up next, leaps from seven feet away, whips the ball around his back, and then through his legs finishing with his left hand. Tracy McGrady comes up next, starts at half court, leaps just inside the free throw line, clears 7 foot 6 teammate Yao Ming as he goes air born with the 360 and flushes it home. Last up is Kobe Bryant who starts from the other end of the floor, sprints hard towards the basket, takes off a step outside the three point line, and just barely gets the ball over the front rim with his over stretched right arm.Who wins? East or West?NOW TELL ME THE FANS WOULDN'T LOVE THAT!
Gerald Green should winbut goceltics lol you're giving too many 50s out....that would be a good dunk contest but it would take way too long and eventually get boring

IF HE HAD ACTUALLY WON THE TITLE! But he didn't... he was basically given the trophy by the league because they changed the rules for him, and then the judges screwed the voting up. Most of his dunks got the "sympathetic" vote since it took the midget 1,000,000 attempts to finally make it. The only one that was really impressive was when he jumped over Spud. Other than that, it was nothing really too special, especially considering the number of attempts he got on each one.If they wanted the champions to defend their titles, they should have invited Iggy, not the midget.Oh well, Green is going to run away with it this year... might as well hand him the trophy now.

QUOTE

After the 5-foot-9 Robinson needed 14 attempts to complete a dunk in last year's dunk-off, a new rule is being implemented this season allowing competitors 2 minutes to complete a dunk once they've received the ball from the referee. If they haven't dunked within that time, they will have two more chances to do so.
