Shame the defense finally caved because the offense blew all year. Please hire an offensive coordinator with some imagination.

It was a nice season at 11-5 and getting back to the playoffs. That said it was a lot of smoke and mirrors predicated on what was a favorable schedule. That's not to say the Giants didn't do some good things but they were very lucky at times when you consider how the offense underachieved. The defense was an excellent unit. Losing JPP was pretty bad and then in this game the loss of DRC was huge. The Jordy Nelson injury doesn't cancel that out because Rodgers still was able to go to work with his other weapons. Cobb killed the Giants again just like he did in the first meeting. Another game where the Giants didn't have DRC and Apple ended up hurt as well. The hail mary should've never happened as Eli Apple pretty much took the play off and you never let a guy get behind you like that. That being said this loss is on the offense and special teams. Dropped passes killed them to start the game where the Giants could've been up 14-0 and who knows where the game goes from there. Wing was absolutely terrible as it looked like he was a rookie kicking for the first time in the cold. Gould as his short kickoffs certainly did them no favors either. Guys like Harris who doesn't know how to fair catch and just makes dumb decisions needs to go. Rainey seeing the field in key spots made no sense and never should've happened. His bone headed play fielding that kickoff and going out of bounds was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. What should've been first and ten from the 40 ends up first and ten at the three.

The better team won and while the Giants put a lot of money into the defense last off season they need to address the offense starting with the offensive line. Eli showed today what he can do with time and the arm strength is still there. You just can't have Flowers at LT and no running game to speak off. It's an offense to reliant on Beckham breaking off a big play and little else.

Here is what I don't understand. You saw that Beckham was explosive on returns. He was doubled all game. All the teams punts and kickoffs where short. Why wasn't Beckham on returns the entire game? Once again, no end-around runs with Sheppard or Beckham who are electric running the ball. This offensive system sucks as does the play calling. The first 2 picks in the draft better be G or TE in either order. The Giants need to draft a PK 5th or after with a big leg. You can't have these kickoffs go to the 10 yard line or be afraid to kick a 53 yard field goal.

Well that leads to Mcadoo. His play calling was very poor this season. A Chinese menu of plays and what seemed like the same calls over and over again that didn't work. In fairness the offensive line play prevents any semblance of a running game and Eli is too often pressured. Flowers at LT is ridiculous and was a huge offensive killer. I do agree though more reverses and using the receivers in the run game at times would've changed things up.

Bechkam should've been returning punts for sure. Harris brought nothing except bad decision making. As for Rainey he shouldn't of been out there and his fielding of that kick off was one of the dumbest things I've seen in football. Just a mindless play.

The kicking was flat out bad. Wing really let them down. Gould was a fill in after the Brown disaster so I won't kill him but his short kickoffs did them no favors. He shouldn't be back. Wing on the other hand should've been better.

In the end the better team won. The Giants flaws were exposed. They need further work on the roster to have one more shot with Eli at the helm given his age.
