    Re: Detroit's Draft

We have three picks in the draft this season. Orlando's first, our first, and our second.I think that with one of our first picks, we draft a swingman. I think Marcus Williams would be a great fit in Detroit. Aaron Afflalo would be a very great pick too. Second pick? I really want Marc Gasol. He'd be a risk, but he's a risk I'm willing to take. Nick Fazekas is another pick I'd want second.Orlando First Round Pick: Marcus Williams or Aaron AfflaloDetroit First Round Pick:Nick FazekasMarc GasolDetroit Second Round Pick:I don't know enough about the NCAA to make this pick. Hopefully Mustafa Shakur or someone could fall.

Idk if Fazekas would fit into our scheme well. He's not that great of a defender...

I see two scenarios-1. Draft a point with the first pick, preferably Acie Law. Draft a big for the next, I like Jerameo Davidson out of 'Bama. Pick the best avail. player with the 2nd.2. Package 2 or all of the picks and possibly a current player and try and move into the lottery to draft an impact player like Horford, Wright, Thabeet, etc.

Only problem with getting Thorton, Davidson, Wright, or Horton: We have a ton of PF's with Wallace, Maxiell, Amir Johnson, Webber (natural position), and McDyess.

True, to an extent. Sheed will be gone soon. Maxiell IMO is fit to be an energy guy off the bench. I just don't see him being a starter, and I feel he'd be more effective off the bench.Webber might not sign back.McDyess is getting older and won't be around for long.Amir is already 6'11.5, 240 pounds and still growing. I see him possibly becoming a center.

Only problem is that he'd be a very skinny center.Let's say Orlando's record goes downhill. We should draft Acie Law or a swingman. I know Orlando won't be too bad, but I can hope for Al Thorton.

With Captains scenario we should take Fazekas for a PF, and then a swingman with out other pick.

I think we should draft a PG with Orlando's pick, hopefully we can land Acie Law.

Orlando's pick will be 16-20ish, Marcus Williams will not be be available there. Acie Law, however, might be, and he's a great fit in Detroit. Perfect, actually. Your pick will be late first round, and I think you should definitely go after a big guy. Nick Fazekas or Kyle Visser come to mind.

EDIT: There are apparently some solid international bigs that could be available late in the first round, but I don't know much about them, to be honest. I've heard a lot of good things about Tiago Splitter, though.

They have Miami and New Jersey right on them, which would knock them out of the playoffs. They have been bombing out lately, and it should and hopefully continue. I expect it to be 14-17 if not in the lottery.

Look at their record before you spout your mouth off you little clown.I want to package the picks for a lottery pick if possible. It might be a stretch in this years draft, but if we could get a lottery pick I would be very excited. The team we have now is old, and we need a star caliber player of the future so that by the time all of our main guys retire, he is hitting or entering his prime.

I am sure that there will be a Tayshaun Prince or Josh Howard or Manu Ginobli or Gilbert Arenas available later in the draft.

Side-note: The Magic are sinking. I think 3-7 in the last 10, now.

We beat Orlando twice in a row, and they are free falling right now. What do you guys think of the name Al Thorton?

    Re: Detroit's Draft

I would love to see the Pistons draft Acie Law IV with the pick they get from Orlando this year(unless the way the lottery works the Magic get 1 of the first 2 picks but I don't know if it the pick is protected or not?). Why not draft a prospect like Law IV who is being compared to Billups to be mentored by Billups(depending if he stays or not) to be the Pistons point guard of the future? With the 2nd 1st round pick I think the Pistons should go for a 4 that can also play the 5 because there is no guarantee that Webber will stay. Not to mention that he is not exactly getting any younger and I think Amir is a 4 and unless he gets bigger he won't do good at the 5 spot. If the Pistons do end up getting Law IV I like the direction Joe D is going w/ Amir, Prince and JMax. HoLLa baCk
