There is no explanation. He believes the decision to let him go came from WME-IMG and if Zuffa was still the owner he'd still be doing PBP. He was not given a reason as to why his contract was not going to be renewed. Nobody from the UFC or WME-IMG talked to him about it (or since) and it came out of the blue (considering he's been there for 20+ years). Does not distinguish himself from the other 100+ employees including executives who were also laid off. He was not surprised that he didn't get a video tribute given the unceremonious way he was let go but is glad he didn't--the outpouring of support from the MMA community more than made up for it. Tells a story of Anthony Johnson contacting him directly that he thought was touching. Hung around after the show in Sacramento, commiserated with the guys, took photos, said goodbye to some other people who were also leaving after that event. Says he isn't finished in the business and wants to continue to use his talents. Got into the show in Phoenix (his hometown) through friends, not via the UFC. His appearance on camera was a complete coincidence. He was sitting in a box but came down to an empty seat in order to be closer for the main event since he's friends with B.J.
He used to call hockey in Minnesota, IIRC. He's interested in the gig for the new Vegas Golden Knights. But also interested in remaining in MMA.
