From Chris Sheridan ESPN-<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>2. Mike James, TimberwolvesIn the category of "seemed like a good idea at the time" (see Harrington, Al, in Indiana), we point to Minnesota's signing of this free agent last summer as the next mistake the Wolves will try to rectify. The Heat are very interested, but so too are the Pistons and Cavaliers. And since Detroit (able and willing to move Nazr Mohammed, Dale Davis and Flip Murray) can likely outbid Cleveland and Miami, the educated guess here is that James is back playing Deeee-troit bas-ket-ball by this time next week.</div>Go here if you want to see the whole thing-http://pistons.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc...41/m/8781096034
He fits. Detroit needs as much depth/shooting off the bench as possible. They really aren't all that deep outside of the starting 5 and McDyess. I think having the two Pitbulls off the bench together (Hunter/James) again in Detroit would be awesome. James was recently demoted to the bench with Foye starting over him, and Minnesota needs bigs. I think a deal involving Nazr (who is out of the rotation in Detroit anyway) could work out.
Oh man even just the thought of bringing Mike James baCk would hype up Piston fans. I would just like to see the Pistons bring in one more piece, a proven scorer such as James, Peterson, Dixon or Rose. Even tho a lot of people think the Pistons roster is enough to get out of the east but what if they do? WHat about against the West in the finals? I am hoping Joe D makes a move for one of the scorers I mentioned, before the deadline. HoLLa baCk
This is happening!!! woooooooThat means another Championship for the Pistons!!The Bull Dogs are BACK!! god I missed that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DTP @ Feb 14 2007, 11:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I just don't know if I want James back the way he's been acting these last few years chemistry wise.</div> While I can understand that, all Mike James wants is a home. He wants to be somewhere where he knows he will stay, and he wants to win. He is a hard worker and people love him in Detroit. He's not overly happy in Minnesota, especially since he was just benched. I think he'd definitely welcome a Detroit comeback, and I think the majority of Pistons fans would welcome it also.
As long as he doesn't run his mouth and say something rediculously stupid like he has in the past, I am more then happy for mike to join our team.
Well the Pistons lockerroom has always had a knack for putting guys with character issues in their places. Having a bonafide scorer off the bench like Mike James would really bolster our rotation. I'd like to see it, but I'd rather see Morris Peterson.
I think Mike James wants to be with a team that he could start for. he had that in toronto where he was a fantastic player, but he's not a successfull right now in Minnesota.but getting either him, mo pete, or jalen rose would be another big piece of the puzzle going towards another title run.
Oh man if McHale offered Mike James straight up for Nazr Mohammed, I would do that in a heart beat. I tried the trade on espn's trade machine and it worked, I guess since I read they both signed mid level exceptions. Both teams are over the cap so they both can't accept any more players, if we get James then I guess we would have to look to trade Murray for a future pick or Dixon, Rose or Mo Pete(but I doubt Joe D wants to add 2 more scorers) or we'll just have to keep Murray for the rest of the season then he could option out. I don't think the Pistons want Mike James I mean just look at how he has underperformed this season up in Minnesota. He will probabaly not fair much better if he goes over to Detroit.
Mike James wants to be a starter, he doesn't want to come off the bench and that's why I don't think he wants to return here.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dmoney @ Feb 18 2007, 01:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>James would probably be a good fit in Miami.</div>Yeah, Miami would work well. DWade and Shaq would find him open looks, and they need a PG. As long as he doesn't ball hog, that would work out well.
James actually has a chance to start in Miami, but it would be hard to split time between him, JWill, and Payton, although a JWill trade seems possible.but Mike James for Posey sounds good for Miami, and Eddie Griffin May be involved too, but Miami probably wouldnt keep him.Posey,Williams for James, GriffinI really dont know
