seems legit, if i was a young nba star i'd prefer to be where life outside of the passion for work and playing ball was inline with things im interested in. for most of the league that's partying, women, events, and crazy nights.

there isnt anything really new in this is there

If I was a young nba star then I wouldn't stay an nba star for very long.

No there was nothing new there. Just a reminder that when we do get really good players, that also actually like living in Portland, we might think twice about trading their asses so quickly.

We have Dame and CJ, it can work if they get the right players around them.

Who we drafted in the lottery. Our next best players...Harkless and now Nurkic, were both traded for.

Once they are in Portland, they see the benefits

Probably not at the top of the list of important things to most 20 something black, multimillionaires, that have been told all their lives that they're the man by everyone.

Reworded: Small markets like Memphis and Portland must be tricky to survive. The conservative Oregonian destroyed nonconformist black players for years, forcing Zach out. The Memphis media greeted Zach with open arms. So Memphis has had a top team for years and Portland hasn't. Ever since the 25 Points replaced Whitsitt, the Blazers have avoided risk.

Reworded: Native Northwesterners love greenery, but outsiders think it's the barren forest. To be a top basketball player, you need almost a deviant amount of excess energy. Then you get a million dollars per year. Then all the nightlife lovers hang around you. Soon you are out every night with them. Then your team travels to 40-degree Portland weather for a game. It's too cold to promenade around in the dark between nightclubs. At free agent time, you avoid signing with any of the farthest-north teams. It would help if the Blazer VP pushed Blazer news onto ESPN to get what little glamor that Toronto and Cleveland get. He needs that campaign to help FA signings.

Our strippers are the type to not go home with you because they got college in the morning.

Los Angeles? They'd be trying to suck they money out of every rich dude they see.

Just kidding, I don't know why these idiots don't like trees because it rains during the season and they're playing an indoor sport with which theyre gone half the time.

Zach was also run out of those conservative bastions of NY and LA before he found nirvana in glitzy, liberal Memphis

Because of the Oregonian-created reputaton which followed him into the minds of a couple of New York columnists.

He's probably right. Or you have to be great in the draft. Our last title run was built almost totally via trade: Stoudamire, Wallace, Smith, Wells, Pippen.....

It's simply a matter of having a good negotiator or not.

We haven't had one since Bob Whitsitt left.

Donald Trump could make this team deeper than either All Star team if you simply gave him the reins for the summer.

That's why I didn't live in Portland for my 20s.
