Gavin Tucker is a fun guy to watch.

Derrick Lewis doesn't like getting hit in the belly.

What an odd performance from him so far.

    Browne is picking him apart.

Halifax is cold as fuck right now (seriously, who decided on a card in February?) and the power even went out at the hotel last night. Seems like everyone was amped up to fight and get the hell out of there.

I saw most of Bibbo/Taleb and the last four fights. Looks like the other bouts were also entertaining. The crowd was even into the Theodorou/Ferreira fight which I didn't think was hard fought. Theo throws a lot of pointless junk and lacks clean technique. Ferreira is gun shy. Felt like almost all of their fight was out of range.

Gavin Tucker had a stellar debut. For a small town guy from a small fight camp he looked on point. Could've done without the celebrating during the fight but he's green. At 30-years old he needs to make hay in that division but he looks to have the tools.

Hendricks/Lombard didn't exactly go as I expected. I thought Johnny would wear him down with wrestling and try for the KO in the third round. Lombard is extremely punchy but weathered the storm tonight eating several hard knees. This was Lombard's third loss since the suspension and I'd be surprised if they bring him back. Hendricks fought well enough but finding match-ups for him at MW will be difficult. #15 Sam Alvey (6'2/76" reach) #14 Tim Boetsch (6'/74") #13 Uriah Hall (6'/80") and it gets worse from there.

Browne/Lewis went from strange to wild fast. The first round saw Lewis uncomfortably clutching his stomach (apparently trying not to shit himself per the post fight interview which, by the way, is an automatic loss now with the new rules) and fighting well out of his range against Browne who picked at him with leg and body kicks. In the second round more of the same to start until Lewis managed to brawl his way inside and land several hard punches in the clinch leading to a brutal flurry against the cage. Browne survived but was worse for wear. They scrambled, Lewis landed on top, Browne got up but was gassed, and Lewis started pushing forward like crazy. Lewis landed a glancing blow that staggered Browne and from there Lewis Hulkbustered Browne with G&P until Mario Yamasaki cautiously got in between them four or five punches too late.

Lewis has now won six straight at HW and looks to be moving up in the world. His next fight will likely be a title eliminator. I hope they don't put him up against Francis Ngannou (why throw away one contender) but the other HW's are booked. Lewis says he wants some downtime so maybe we'll see him come back after the Werdum and JDS fights are settled. Browne is now 2-5 since 2014 with both of his wins coming against guys no longer in the promotion (Mitrione and Schaub). With Rousey unlikely to return it seems Browne is hanging by a thread. Shame since he was actually winning this fight tonight.

Thought Todd Grisham did a good job tonight. Joe Martinez put a little too much sizzle on the steak, just announce the winner straight up. Brian Stann great as always.

Black Beast brings a replica belt with him to the presser. Calling himself interim HW champ.

All I could think when Stann conducted the post fight interview with Hendricks was "Hendricks will be fighting guys that much bigger than him at Middleweight." Stann towered over him.

Yamasaki admits that he was late to stop the Lewis/Browne fight. Fair play to him.

He does say that heavyweights give him less time to react. They punch a lot harder.

But if we're being honest he takes a super cautious approach to stopping fights. He really doesn't want to get in between the fighters. Can't blame him but if that's the way he does things some fighters are going to take extra damage.

Browne took two concussive punches that were unnecessary. More like four punches when you consider that the back of his head bounced off the canvas for both.
