He looks to me like a decent enough defensive big who can hit the 3 on occasion.

I wouldn't give up on him too soon.

    Remember this guy?

Read the title of the thread. Andre Drummond is not a PF.

Yeah Rabb definitely has not lived up to the hype. But I would take him in the mid teens....if Leaf was gone.

Yeah, I remember that guy. He was buried behind Sabas, Sheed and BGrant. Vonleh has played significantly more minutes and started 72 games. He's had plenty of chances to show what he can do. He's not some diamond in the rough buried deep on the bench behind better players. And, even though he wasn't a starter and played fewer minutes, is his second season at the age of 19, Jermaine had two double:doubles and scored more than 11 points 5 times. He showed way more potential at 19 than Vonlleh has shown at 21.

I still say we give Meyers a shot. Nurk does what Meyers does not do. So play them together.

    Noah Vonleh: PER = 8.3
    Meyers Leonard: PER = 8.3

These are NOT the Power Forward of the Future, if your goal is to win.

The thing is if he playing the stretch 4, then we might as well put Layman in there instead. At least against teams that use a stretch 4. Jake can cover the perimeter. Not fair to expect Meyers to run around the perimeter. Get Jake some minutes.

He was a disaster at power forward. He can't defend other fours.

I am on board with one of our later two picks. Doesn't seem all that agile though. Would need a good stretch 4 to complement him. We probably have at least one of those :)

OMG no! Seriously, Layman didn't even play PF in college and now he's going to start at PF in the NBA. The guy has an 8'6" standing reach. I'm 6'4" and have a standing reach of 8'5" and I don't even have long arms.

    Thad Young - standing reach = 8'10"
    Ersan Ilyasova - Standing reach = 9'1.5"

    Not even fucking close.

The guy had ONE lights out shooting night in 8 minutes of garbage time back on November 1, has sucked absolute ass ever since and people act like he's the second coming of Larry Bird.

Well, congratulations you happened to find the ONE player on our roster with a lower PER than Noah Vonleh and Meyers Leonard.

We were in the middle of a power forward Renaissance when we had LMA. Guys like Bosh, Dirk, ZBO, and then older guys like Garnett and Webber. But right now there just aren't that many good power forwards. It's all point guards.

Hey, just spitballing. No reason to mock and ridicule someone. It was my idea anyway.

Is the goal of the forum to make posters hesitate to post something because it might get them mocked?

It's not like it was some obviously stupid ass question like some posters offer

Yeah, it's not like you've never started a thread for the sole purpose of mocking another poster.

Doesn't matter whose idea it was it's a BAD idea. The guy didn't even play PF in college and has an 8'6" standing reach What about that says power forward?

As we'll probably be in the lottery and most likely keeping that pick, I'm going with a PF that will be in the draft. Lauri Markkanen. A 7 footer who can shoot and do some rebounding. He turns 20 this May, so a little older than most freshmen. Might be a good match with Nurk.
