CJ was a communications major. So he understands what he was saying, he wasn't bragging, he was saying that he doesn't think no one can guard him, which is a statement of humility.
Wait... I didn't read this thread, but doesn't CJ and his journalistic backgrounds statement mean he thinks he CAN be guarded?
Well I don't know who this nobody person is, but according to last night there are several players on the Warriors who can guard him
I don't really understand making statements like this after a loss. I thought Westbrook's statement was much more apropos: “I don’t give a f— about my scoring line. We lost the game.”
Just to make a point that seems to escape some of you: CJ didn't say that he wouldn't have bad shooting nights. He also didn't say that double teaming wouldn't impact his shooting. He was simply saying he didn't think anyone could shut him down one on one.
Flashback of Billy Ray Bates in the playoffs proclaiming we would blow Seattle out of their own building. Same result. More disturbing is that CJ and Susan Rice have the same grammar coach.
still not the smartest thing to say and the timing was not good either, basically put a lid on it and stay humble
If you think what CJ said was the reason that the Warriors paid extra attention to him and Dame in Game 2, I guess you didn't watch Game 1. All of the great offensive players think that they can score on anyone anywhere. CJ was just being honest.
