Will we have another one of these in the next ten years? 50 years between titles is nearing Sox/Cubs/Cavs level of ineptitude.
With the roster as it stands now, I think it'll be more than 10 years. They need to improve their bench and PF spot a lot. And defense needs to be played.
Knicks, Nets, Bucks, Nuggets, Clippers, Jazz, Suns, Hawks, Pacers, Kings have all gone longer, so...I don't feel too terrible. It's a function of the league in which they exist.
A handful of years ago, you could have added the Warriors to this list and no one would have expected them to come off the list anytime soon. Cavaliers, too. Things can change rapidly.
If you're going to listen to the ending of the game, you need to listen to Schonley's call: Go to 11:20 min mark to hear the last 5 seconds.
I hadn't yet arrived to this life to see the 1977 championship. To witness it in person. I pine for the day I can celebrate and see downtown fill up with a swarm of people hoisting the Blazers and their trophy high
Can we have another ABA dispersal draft so we can pick up another young Moses Malone-type player? I wish that kind of thing happened in the NBA nowadays. There were so many other ways to get talent other than free agency back then. I feel like we are living in a basketball world run by Bartleby the Scrivener. Oh, I am sorry, Mr. Silver. '77 the sports world had so much more promise. Well minus the open racism, fan violence, and Reggie Jackson candy bars.....
Our one and only championship. Today we're focusing on building from the draft. Today being a development team for the NBA is a thing for the small market teams. Players often become ring chasers.
I am 100% with you. I also can't wait for doemtoen to fill up. That is THE BEST. I absolutely love doemtoen. I mean, despite the constant negative press, doemtoen.
The lights are much brighter there. You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares. So go doemtoen, things will be great when your doemtoen, no finer place for sure Doemtoen everything is waiting for you
That was kind of a one-time deal, though. The closest analogue to that now is the draft-and-stash of international players from other leagues. Maybe you eventually get a really nice player, maybe you eventually get nothing.
Yeah, but a lot of those guys pull out when they aren't going to be top picks. I mean, remember when we could draft a guy like Drazen Petrovic with the 60th overall pick?! Glickman must have lit a big cigar and felt like a pimp after that pick. Oh happy days! Small market teams had it so good....
