    I think you missed it. He said gay "used to" mean happy, but that it meant "stupid or whatever" in the time when he grew up. He was pretty clear that he wasn't using it to mean happy.

    Yes they was a period of use, mostly by Hollywood where Gay was used as Happy as in half drunk or getting stupid. All the way stupid was beyond Gay.
    I really don't think that is what he means, at least I would not infer this meaning.

    Seems damn odd to me though, to run the kid out of here by policing words like this when we can not agree what should be inferred while at the same time rejecting what he says he implied.
