But with guys like Quarterman you take them as projects you might become decent rotation players if they developp well and you get really lucky. I don't see the the point of having a 29yo 3rd stringer. Except if you're going for the garbage time championship

He has value from his example and as a practice player. And he would instantly be our very best backcourt defender.

In my view baseball pitching is the hardest rotation to crack in pro sports...and it carries a lot of stress with the job...Pat is young...he knows he can fall back on baseball later but you get only one shot at basketball usually when you're his age

Cont. concerns would his ability to guard the perimeter. An ever increasing demand for 4's in the league.

Let me rephrase it, I may have been too strong about Mo. Bob went out of his way to be friendly to Blazer fans and would talk about the young rookies. From sitting close to Cheeks I viewed him completely different. This was a small gym and fans were close. Not as bad as Bird who basically had security keeping fans away, but none the less went out of his way to ignore the fans. The expression on his face was never friendly and he made it clear to stay the fuck away. I never bothered him but sat close enough to watch him how he dealt with everyone. I guess my point was Bob was friendlier than most.

Regarding Biggie's 25% 3pt shooting - he never really looked OFF by much. I think fatigue played a big part. I also think he looks pretty damn comfortable from out there. I can easily see the 3 developing into a real weapon for him. Just needs time!

They should... Put one in Vancouver. Local, kind of a different market, we'd show out for games...

I watched the other summer league than you guys - I watched the one where everything was the same as in yours, except Spock had a beard and Jake Layman's defense stunk.

I wish Stokes could make the roster, he seems like he'd be a fan favorite if he made the team. But he won't.

We need to stack the 14th/15th roster spots with high upside guys. Montero didn't pan out but there was a glimmer of hope at least. Give me Cleveland.

And why the fuck doesn't PA have a G League team? Someone explain that to me. Can other teams poach your players so it doesn't really matter?

I kinda liked what the kings did with the no defense thing they employed with their g league team. I forget the details but it was like leave a guy back to cherry pick every possession or something.

With Swanigan's biggest weakness to his game being overall athleticism he really needs to prove it against the guys in the NBA for me to be a believer. There just aren't a lot of guys who are 6-8 and lack athleticism that make it very far in the NBA.

Now if we could morph his skill set with Noah Vonleh's physical profile I'd be getting excited.

With the caveat that I didn't watch the SL games, just some highlights, I'm in the same boat. I was lukewarm on him in the NCAA tourney because he looked to me like the typical dominant college guy who won't have the physical edge at the next level. SL isn't a higher level in that regard, so his Vegas successes haven't yet convinced me that he's as much of a sure thing as many here now believe. I am cautiously optimistic, though.

*C-Bo should be the starting PF from day one.

*Lonzo Ball is the real deal. I hate that LA has him. Game changing passer.

*Z. Collins showed that he has the awareness/tools to be an elite defensive force.

*Layman has the most diverse skillset of any SF on the roster.

*Alex Caruso would've been a great pickup. High IQ on both ends. Again, fuck the Lakers.

In the games I saw Layman absolutely sucked ass. He will probably make the team, but he shouldn't in my opinion.

That's good for you mm, you really did not get it for most of this summer league, and it did not matter, but now that you do - it does!

The play around the 2:30 mark is money! Passing to a cutter off the dribble? For a big man? Hell yeah!
Also that Gutierrez play around 3:30 where he broke some ankles and then set up two defenders for a mid-air collision while dumping it off for Biggie - loved it!

I was wondering who you were posting about, and then I realized I couldn't tell because I blocked him over a year ago. For the exact reason you specify.

He's actually the only poster I've ever blocked. There are more offensive or annoying posters out there. His shtick is just so predictably, condescendingly tedious. I'd rather just go look through my tax filings from last year than read a dozen of his posts. The IRS at least leaves out the condescension.

And now I'm doing the meta stuff too. *sigh* I guess it's contagious, which is another good reason to block.
