Yeah if I'm Portland, I'm gauging how interested Bledsoe would be coming off the bench behind Dame and CJ if he could still get 30min a game. If he's cool with that, I'd try to put a package together. Vonleh, Davis, Napier, Meyers and 2018 and 2020 picks (Top 18 Protected the 1st year, Lottery Protected the next) for Bledsoe and Chandler. We'd also offer to take back Jared Dudley's contract if they wanted to dump it (We'd use our TPE).
Honestly, if I were the Bucks, I'd be offering Dellavedova, Henson, Teletovic, Maker, and a pick for Bledsoe. They'd have Bledsoe, Brogdon, Middleton, Giannis, Snell, Monroe, and others for the rest of the season, which would be solid. HOWEVER, they would be a Snell trade away from having MAX cap space. DeMarcus Cousins played with Eric Bledsoe in college, so they could leverage Bledsoe, cap room, their talent, and their young pieces into landing Cousins. Bledsoe, Brogdon, Middleton, Giannis, and Cousins would be a dirty starting lineup.
True...just not sure if I'm ready to give up on Pat yet. Never been a big fan of Bledsoe anyways. Maybe a change of scenery will help him much like Nurk.
Ideally, Dame/CJ plays 34min, Bledsoe players 31min, Turner would play 29mpg and Aminu/Harkless play 28mpg. Harkless would play 16 minutes at SF and 12 minutes at PF. Assuming we send out Vonleh, Davis, and Napier, it wouldn't be a problem. Lillard (34) / Bledsoe (14) McCollum (34) / Bledsoe (14) Harkless (16) / Turner (29) / Bledsoe (3) Aminu (28) / Harkless (12) / Swanigan (8) Nurkic (33) / Collins (12) / Swanigan (3) I like that rotation a lot. Would always have 2 ball handlers and high volume scorers at the guard spots. Turner would give us a 3rd ball handler on the court for 29-30mpg.
Bledsoe is sooo much better than Pat. Pat's played solid, and could definitely prove to be an Allen Crabbe type of player. However, he's not a guy that's going to make a true difference in the playoffs like Bledsoe would. So Pat shows to be a solid player in the regular season, doesn't help us take the next step, but still gets signed to $10M+ a year like Crabbe did. I'd rather keep him as a situational player, using him if CJ, Dame, Bledsoe, Harkless, or Turner gets hurt, and keep his value down so we can resign him cheap. Bledsoe would have to accept coming off the bench, which may not be a thing he'd be willing to do. However, if he went to CLE he'd probably end up off the bench anyway. He'd still get 30min and would easily be the best 6th man in the league and would create the best 3-guard backcourt in the league. Wouldn't be quite like the Thomas+Dragic+Bledsoe expirement that failed a few years ago, since CJ is a SG, and Dame and CJ are better playing off the ball than Thomas and Dragic. He'd be the perfect 3rd guard for us. A good defender that can shoot at a decent clip, and relentlessly attack the rim. We need that 3rd guy that can score and attack on all three levels, putting Turner in a better position as that 4th guy that can create his own.
I guess his years in Phoenix have really soured me on him. Well looking at his stats...he definitely puts up good stats. Okay fine I'm cool with trading for him.
We won't trade for him, sadly. It'd be such a perfect fit for me though. Dame and CJ are relentless on the court together, and adding Bledsoe would make it so that our backcourt kept the pressure on the defense at a very high level for all 48 minutes. With Dame potentially becoming a decent defender (I like saying that), and Bledsoe being a good defender, they could really create problems on both ends for teams. He's exactly what I want from that 3rd guard.
Harkless is a better player than Chandler and Bledsoe together. People need to stop trading away the guy for lesser talent.
I don't think we can afford to have Turner and Bledsoe, so we'd have to trade Turner IMO "if" we traded for bledsoe
We can afford a payroll of anything. It just depends on if a certain player is worth the tax. With Bledsoe, he is, but we'd match salary in a Bledsoe trade anyway, so we wouldn't raise our payroll by much (if at all).
Davis, Napier, and Vonleh have very little value. Those picks would be protected to be late in the first, so imagine it as trading Dzanan Musa and De'Anthony Melton... So we'd give up a lot of players, but all of them would be marginal and easily replaceable. Swapping Meyers for Chandler would be a bonus.
