First, i like to say i really like our coach Terry Stotts. He's with us for a long time, and we always make the playoffs with him. He advanced to 2 round 2 times so far, against clippers and rockets.

Why i think this is the last season with him? Because of the money we spend for our team. We have one of the most expensives payrolls in the league. I dont know you guys, but if we go trash, i preferer us to sign trash players, not pay a bunch of money to trash players. Someone in the frontoffice will go down if we dont make the playoffs. ''You are overreacting, we lost tonight and you create a thread'' ok, maybe i am, but stotts has been Out coach MANY TIMES. This season: Kid, Rivers and Casey outcoached him. Game against bucks he put EVAN TURNER (A turnerover machine) to match up against GIANNIS. wtf? Why he dont try put aminu or harkless? Evan just got himself exposed by the greek freak.

Against clippers he always is out coached by rivers. ALWAYS. Our game is to easy to matchup. We give the ball to dame or cj, and set a screen. The teams are already know that. We need a change, and i hope we can ''save'' this season. I mean save is not make the playoffs in the 8 seed. Last night: Denver lost, Pelicans lost, Houston lost, Memphis lost. It was a GREAT chance for us to be close with the top teams. We lost for them without ibaka and jonas. It was fucking embarrassed last night, they are a good team, but this not explain the game last night.

Stotts has been outcoached for so many coach's in the league. The game against clippers beverly put his elbown in lillard face. If our coach was popovich or kerr they would scream and do they show. Stotts just keep quiet.

Really terrible lost tonight. And about to have another one in utah.

If either of them go it will be Terry, but doubt either are gone next year. Blazers are still rebuilding, a deep playoff run probably isn't even the expectation of the franchise this year.
That said not only is Stotts a terrible coach on the defensive end, he has glaring deficiencies on the offensive end. He doesn't have a lot of flexability with his plays, choosing to run the same ones over and over. The Stotts offense is highly predictable and is known by every team. Double team Dame and CJ and the Blazers sputter. Its the same old story.

Those hoping Nurkic would maintain his tantalizing play from last year gave been sorely disappointed thus far. He took other teams by suprise wirh his passing, screens, and rolls to the basket. This season he has been figured out. He is growing comfortable with jumpers and when he does bring the ball inside he is an out of control freight train and throws the ball up wildly, without rythm. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan if Nurkic. He has amazing potential.

The problem is the plays that are being setup for him. The plays that are being called for Dame and CJ. Aminu being allowed to dribble the ball into the lane. Etc. The Blazers can't trust the plays. They don't feel right. Their isn't enough variety. Its all the same. Screens up top for threes. Running into a clogged lain to throw up shots that have no or little chance of getting to the basket, or throwing it out for 3's which has worked to some extent. But, man can't live on 3's alone.

Stotts as the coach needs to get creative, something he seems to struggle with. He is to conventional. If he doesn't figure it out, it may cost him his job down the road. Its still early in the season, so we will see if he and the blazers can get their act together. Its not panic time just yet.

It’s a tough situation... the real problem with this team is the McLillard combo. We will never win until one of them is traded. I hoped it would work but we see the same issues every year... they just don’t get their teammates involved enough. Especially CJ, he is a black hole when he gets the ball. It’s not a fireable offense for Olshey because he has amassed so much talent... and it’s hard to blame Stotts for not making it work... I guess if I had to choose tho I would get rid of Stotts because I think Neil is a top 3 GM in the league.

If they don't make the playoffs both should go. No question about it.

I dont think we should wait till the end of the season. Get some new management now, let them evaluate the players under contract, and blow it up mid season.

How has Neil done a bad job in your opinion?
Neil has drafted fairly well, has made some very good trades but has struck out in FA which is what 90% of teams do. Sure he overpaid for ET but the other contracts he handed out to Leonard/Crabbe/Harkless were done with us being over the cap anyway and from those contracts Harkless looks great, Leonard is an albatross of a contract but Mason Plumlee, who has a worse contract, has been moved multiple times easily and Crabbe was very easily moved.

I could knock Neil for overpaying Crabbe and Turner. Both players did not deserve that income level. He did acquire Nurk when the team needed a passing/rebounding center and invigorated the 016 team. We also have to realize it is too early to define Portland as a hands down playoff team. Secondly, the great North West does not attract premier players. At least the uniforms are cool and the fans appreciate the Blazers.

I definitely do NOT give Neil a pass, but I'm not panicking unless we aren't playing well by around Christmas time.

Neil drafted Meyers....than re-signed Meyers to ANOTHER contract. That right there is grounds for dismissal... :banghead:

Drafting Meyer's was an OK move. It was a bad draft year. There really isn't anyone drafted after Meyers (besides Draymond Green) that is worth anything. It was an appropriate gamble given the situation.

However, I would have looked to move him after his rookie year for Gobert. Re-signing Meyers to a multi-year second contract is inexcusable.

    He also:
    • Drafted Lillard
    • Drafted McCollum
    • Drafted Swanigan
    • Signed the best backup big in the NBA
    • Got Harkless for a bowl of steam
    • Turned Jeff Withey into Rolo
    • Traded for Blake/RJH for Pat and Plumlee, got everything out of Plums including Nurkic
This is just off the top of the head but please, use his complete body of work.

Apparently I need to use a more tongue-in-cheek emoji for our favorite ref. :bgrin: Of course he did all of those things. But Meyers.....TWICE?

I think that if we do not start playing better basketball before the end of the year, either CJ or Stotts goes.

    Oh. My. God. Bump.

I see why tou made that deal with me now. You think Olshey is a top-3 GM in this league? How sweet it was to read this based on your meltdowns when it was less than 7 months ago.
