It was a very strange decision for sure. The 8 isn't that different then my 7+........ I think I will get the X this spring. I want that new camera!
The camera is a really big deal if you take lots of pictures. The 8 has wireless charging, but meh about that. The 8 has more RAM and a (2x?) faster CPU, so it is going to work faster (except network intensive things). The camera is probably the only thing really worth upgrading for.

Having 2nd thoughts about the X..... I am going to wait til late Winter when they will be in stock and get one. Sell my 7Plus and my sons and get one. Really want that camera.
the new cameras are crazy. My bro got a note 8 and the camera is fucking insane, I guess the Iphone X and Pixel 2 have similar. Just crazy good quality, thought some of his pics were taken with a higher end prosumer compact camera.
Yeah, you really can't go wrong with the note/Galaxy, iPhone or pixel right now. I'm loving my pixel 2.
Yeah, I got the small one. Had the 6P before, which had a great camera, but was slooow. It's night and day how quick the camera on the pixel 2 is. I've only used lens a couple of times with mixed results. But assistant was the same way when it launched, so it should get better. But fit right now I wouldn't upgrade just for that feature.
Thanks. Will probably wait a little longer. Lens is really the most interesting feature out there in smartphones. Assistant is pretty good already, just adding the visual component will make it a killer app for me.
My 6s plus is plenty good and fast. I do think the camera is worth the upgrade, so I probably will at some point. Like you, after a few months.
I like it a lot. It's been lasting me over 2 days on a charge, which is really surprising. I play stored music from it all the time to my ear buds and it still has a long battery life. I tore my hamstring running on the treadmill, so I've been really taking it easy the past several days - since I got the watch. I was only able to walk a couple miles one day using the watch for my intended purposes. My kid sends me texts and I respond using the watch. The speech to text is surprisingly good. I use a plain old watch face with a second hand and a button for health info and breathing on the screen, the date at the bottom. I tried the others and found myself having to work to find the info I really care about at a glance. I haven't gotten it wet, though. I wonder if the band will get all funky after a while. I charged it yesterday at 2:00PM and it's at 82% battery now, at ~9AM. FWIW. I like the Blazers' color scheme
Ive always used it for Starbucks and Delta at the airport, but I have been using it for real random things lately. Playing music through our home stereo, voice texting and a real cool thing....... we just got a new furnace and the thermostat is hooked up to our wifi and the Home app on our iPhones......so I can talk to Siri through my watch and have her turn it on and off and change the temp right from my wrist. Kids love it.
